An amazing start to this piece and a beautiful way to remember a friend ā¤ļø

When I work on an illustrative colour tattoo, I always try to balance the first session black work to create contrast. Sometimes I paint all the midtones in with a grey wash, and sometimes I prefer to create midtones with colour. In the end it depends on the colours Iā€™m using and the skin Iā€™m working with.
