Allen is a talented local artist, and together, Allen and Rita generously donated all proceeds raised through the beautiful piece pictured here to support the new La Ronge & Area Long-Term Care Home.

It is incredible to see members of our community finding their own unique ways to support this project. Every contribution brings us one step closer to our $5,000,000 goal to furnish and equip the new Long-Term Care Home, Dialysis Unit and Expanded Therapies Area.

What’s Inside? Salon

The Salon within the new La Ronge & Area Long-Term Care Home will give residents a comfortable and welcoming space to enjoy regular haircuts and pampering without having to leave the home.

Sometimes, something as simple as a fresh haircut can make a big difference in how you feel. The Salon will help residents maintain their routines, feel their best, and continue enjoying the little things that make somewhere truly feel like home.

Because feeling at home also means feeling like yourself, and feeling like yourself can make a meaningful difference in your quality of life.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to join Rise Air, Athabasca Basin Development, La Ronge EMS & Northern Air Medevac and community leaders to celebrate an incredible milestone, 30 years of the medevac partnership between Rise Air and La Ronge EMS!

During the celebration, Rise Air and Athabasca Basin Development announced a $42,000 commitment to our campaign to bring healthcare closer to home, further strengthening their commitment to accessible healthcare across Northern Saskatchewan.

Thank you to Rise Air, Athabasca Basin Development and La Ronge EMS for everything you do, every day, to support and care for our northern communities. 💙

What's Inside? Nīkīnak Gathering Place

The nīkīnak Gathering Place will be a busy gathering space within the new La Ronge & Area Long-Term Care Home. Located along the main hallway to the elevators, it will bring residents, staff, families, and community members together.

Whether it's a place to relax and enjoy a different view or to gather for larger events, this space will host everything from Recreation Therapy activities and card tournaments to Christmas concerts and special celebrations.

Most importantly, the Community Room will help keep that sense of community at the heart of the new home.

What's Inside? Dental Suite

The Dental Suite within the new La Ronge & Area Long-Term Care Home will be critical to ensuring residents have access to proper oral care. This space will allow residents to receive regular check-ups and ongoing dental care right within their home.

For seniors and those with mobility challenges, removing barriers to dental care can make an incredible difference in their overall health and quality of life.

Spotlight Saturday!

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing Ladies Slo-Pitch League for donating $1,000.00 to help bring healthcare closer to home!

Our communities are filled with so many different organizations, committees, etc. who always go above and beyond. We are so grateful for the community spirit!

"The Ladies Slo-Pitch League has played every summer for 30+ years and continues to be one of the few all-women leagues in the province.

This past year, we had 5 teams with over 85 women playing ball together, ranging in age from 15 to 60.

We have women who commute in from Sucker River and Stanley Mission just to play.

This space is meant for women to come together and play ball- but also to visit, laugh and support each other.

When the executive came together to discuss extra funds, it was, hands down, a collective yes to donate the funds to long-term care.

On Saturday, August 8th, we held our playoffs and asked all 85 players to join us on the field in front of family, friends, and ball fans if they agreed to the donation. It was a resounding yes, with cheers and emotion.

This is our small contribution to help support the notion that our elders and loved ones can remain here in our community in comfort."

Ladies, thank you for all that you do, your community support is contagious.

Whats Inside - Trappers Lookout

A beautiful third-floor gathering space featuring floor to ceiling windows and a cool to the touch fireplace. This special space was inspired by the vision of the late Elder Miles Charles and will provide a peaceful place where residents, families, and visitors can relax, take in the breathtaking views, and enjoy the home's stunning architecture.

To enhance the experience, a surround sound speaker system will play seasonal nature sounds throughout the year, creating a calming atmosphere that reflects the beauty of Northern Saskatchewan.

A commemorative plaque honouring the life and vision of Elder Miles Charles will also be featured in the space, ensuring his legacy and contribution to this special gathering place are recognized for generations to come.
