This Sunday is Mother’s Day and I came across a beautiful prayer to celebrate the day and honor our Blessed Mother as well.

“ Dear Lord of the family, on this day we give You thanks for our mothers. We honor those who bore us, nurtured us, protected us, and supported us.Although we can never fully know how important their service was, we know our lives would be poverty- stricken without them.
We remember the mothers who have gone to glory and we honor them. 😔We give thanks and pledge our support for the mothers still among us.We pray for special strength for those currently engaged in the difficult task of parenting.
If our relationship with our mother is or was troubled, we pray, dear God , for forgiveness and reconciliation.
Father, we pray for those who desire to be mothers, but have not yet conceived. We pray that You will answer their longings , either through a birth or by bringing them a precious soul who needs their mothering care. Through Jesus , who longed to gather us together as a mother hen gathers her chicks. Amen “

you bless us with angels—
those spirit messengers who come in ever new and surprising forms.
To the ancients they were “the Powers,”overawing presences.
No image can do justice to their mystery, but when we are alert,we meet them everywhere.
May I sense them , heed them,and myself become a messenger, for we are all meant to be angels to one another.
