Plus, the colourful wrappers are pretty entertaining!

Was at Poncho's café and Catering. A lovely person offered good-vibes fortune bookmarks. This was the one I pulled. Could not agree more!

If you've never been to Poncho's, it's a lovely little Café with monthly drink creations and fun decorations. If you ever arrive early, you might want to grab a nice snack or a fun caffeinated beverage.

I (Sam) recently got some new squishy, regular, and magnetic putty for my Somatic Experiencing practice.

I quickly learned something interesting — JoAnn was not a fan of the sugary squishy texture, but she really enjoyed the magnetic putty.

And honestly… that makes perfect sense.

We all have textures our nervous systems enjoy, and textures that feel uncomfortable, overstimulating, grounding, calming, or even irritating. Exploring texture can be such a lovely and clear way to understand your somatic self a little more.

Something as simple as noticing the feeling of a mug in your hands, the texture of a blanket, or the fabric of a pillow can shift your experience in the moment when you slow down enough to really orient to the sensation.

Some textures may feel:
• smooth and calming
• soft and comforting
• coarse and stimulating or playful
• pokey and grounding… or completely annoying

There’s no “right” response.

Everybody experiences texture differently, and your body often tells you what it needs long before your mind catches up.

So I’m curious:
What textures do you naturally gravitate toward?
Which ones do you avoid?
And how does your body let you know?

Give pizza a chance: fire-roasted pizza is delicious!

Today, we honour the many ways care shows up in the world.

To the mothers, the mother figures, and the caregivers who step in and hold others up,

through the long days, the quiet sacrifices, the joyful moments, and even the unseen ones

We see you.

We honour the strength it takes on the hard days,
the nurturing presence you offer on the tender days,
and the lightness, laughter, and wisdom you bring along the way.

So much of what you give goes unspoken,
But it shapes lives in lasting ways.

From all of us at Ease & Insight Wellness,
Thank you for your care, your resilience, and your heart.

Today, and every day, you deserve a moment for yourself, too.

Our clinic is sadly not as accessible as we would like. We hope that when we grow and can have our own space, this will change.

Until then, I reached out to our Massage Therapy/wellness Community, and here are some clinics that ARE wheelchair accessible.

Somatic Experiencing Sunday

What is Somatic Experiencing (SE)?

A gentle, body-based approach to healing from stress, trauma and overwhelm.

Trauma isn’t just what happened
It’s how your nervous system got stuck trying to protect you.

SE works with your body (not just your thoughts)

Body -based meaning focusing on physical sensations, like tightness, warmth, or breathing, to help your nervous system settle and heal.

- If you’ve ever felt:

• anxious or overwhelmed
• shut down or numb
• like you mentally "understand it"… but your body still reacts

That’s not you failing
That’s your nervous system doing its job.

- How SE helps:

✨ Works with your body, not just talking
✨ Slows things down so it feels manageable
✨ Gently move through stored stress
✨ Helps you return to your “window of tolerance.”

- The most important part:

○ You don’t have to relive everything to heal
○ Your reactions make sense
○ Your body can learn to feel safe again
