My daughter sent me this photo of her breakfast this week.

A meal that is balanced, something that supports her and that she enjoys!

I had one of those moments where I realized, our children really do pay attention to our habitsđź’—

Not necessarily what we say, but what we do consistently.

Things like how we eat, how we take care of ourselves, how we speak about our bodies and what feels normal in our households.

Our willingness to make change when life does not feel good.

Working with clients, I especially see how these habits stick into adulthood.

If making changes for yourself feels hard sometimes, think about the people around you. What would you want for them? Why not for you too.

I feel so grateful my daughter has been able to bring healthy habits into her adult life. Not as perfection, rather creating a long term healthy way of living.

April was full ♥️

A few things that stood out

My daughter turned 22, which still does not feel possible

I had the opportunity to hold space for others with my beautiful friend Carrie through breathwork and reiki ✨

I paid attention to the everyday…sunrise, sunset and just being outside

There was a lot of laughter! Unexpected-the best kind.
(A horse costume at a babies first rodeo shower still makes me laugh)

Munchie. Obviously. Life is better with him in it

I always stick to my basics
-getting outside
-eating food that feels good and nourished my body
-strength training
-keeping things simple

A life that feels full. Love IS everywhere.

Change is not comfortable.

When I first started going to the gym-I stayed at the back of the class

I had no idea what I was doing
I was NOT confident
I really would have felt best staying home…

But I stayed with it

Over time-the discomfort shifted

This shift is not just going the gym

It is also…
Going for a walk rather than tv at night
Eating something better when it might be easier not to
Saying no to the wine
Drinking water instead
Scheduling self care time in without guilt

Being HONEST about how you really feel

It all feels hard at the beginning

Most people take this as a sign to stop

It is not…this is how change works

The gym became one of my happy spaces

You can find yours too!

You can either stay the same or get curious

Most people are trying to fix themselves.

Dieting
Restricting
Doing more
Pushing harder
Doing what “everyone else is doing”

Instead of actually taking care of themselves

Eating well
Moving
Resting
Laughter

Not perfectly, consistently

You matter… and you don’t build a healthy relationship with yourself by forcing habits that don’t feel good.

You build by showing up for yourself, in a way that feels good for you.

Your life is not on hold. You are.

Every desire you feel....
to create something,
to move your body,
to get stronger,
to take care of yourself in a deeper way...
is not random.

It is your body asking to truly live.

Not when you have more time.
Not when you feel more confident.
Not when everything is perfectly planned.

Now.

Clarity does not come from constantly thinking.
It comes from doing.
From showing up.
From trying, adjusting, and trying again.

You do not need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be willing to begin.

Be curious.

Start the project.
Take the hike.
Cook the meal.
Lift the weight.

Let it be imperfect and uncomfortable.
Let it be messy.
Let it teach you something.

This is how you build trust with yourself.
This is how you create a life that actually feels like yours.

Not by waiting.

But by living it.

For a long time I said yes to everything.

Work things
Social engagements
Opportunities
Weekend Plans

Maybe it looked productive-I was tired.

I still catch myself doing it.

The calendar starts filling up again…and that is when I pause and check myself.

A few questions I come back to:

Do I want to do all of this?
Does this support the life I am wanting to build?
Am I choosing this…or afraid to slow down?

Sometimes my answer is uncomfortable.

So now I do something that used to feel strange-I leave space.

Days where NOTHING is planned.

A full calendar is not the goal.
A fulfilled life is.
Living in a way that actually feels good for me.

Where are you at right now?
Building life intentionally, or just keeping yourself busy?
