Back to school can mean more asthma flare-ups for kids, thanks to increased exposure to viruses, allergens and other triggers. Follow these five tips to avoid what's known as the "September Spike":

✅ book an asthma check-up for your child before school starts
✅ get back into consistent medication routines and ensure your child always has access to their inhaler
✅ help your child understand their asthma triggers and how to avoid them
✅ ensure the school is aware of your child's action plan in the event of an asthma attack
✅ keep your child home from school when they're sick
