Coulee Medical Clinic - Medical Office Assistant Roles and Responsibilities
Reports to:
Clinic Manager
Collaborates with:
Supports the delivery of primary care services in the family practice clinic setting. They function as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team which includes Physicians, NP's, RN's, RPN, LPN's, MOA's, Clinic Manager, Clinical Care Coordinator and Receptionists.
Education:
High School diploma preferred
Medical Office Assistant course an asset
Experience:
Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
Ability to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members
Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in a professional manner in English.
Proficiency in the use of computers and office equipment
Ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare exam and procedure rooms; setup and maintain supplies and equipment for all examinations and procedures
Weekly or as necessary clean and stock exam rooms
Coordinate and assist with patient care through the clinic: waiting rooms, exam rooms, lab, xray etc.
Assist with completing forms and obtaining consent as appropriate
Check demographics especially for any forms, referrals etc.
Measure vital signs (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Respiratory Rate, Oxygen Saturation, Height, Weight, and Waist Circumference) and record in electronic medical record (EMR)
Share information gathered from patients with appropriate team members to assist in a more comprehensive care of the patient.
