Pull up a chair and grab a drink.

I’ve been sitting on this conversation for years, choosing to stay quiet because it felt easier to keep the peace than to speak up. But lately, I’ve found myself wondering why vendors are often expected to absorb poor experiences without ever talking about them.

To be clear, this isn’t about the hosts who care. It’s not about the hosts who communicate, work hard, support their vendors, and genuinely try to create a great event. There are many amazing market organizers out there.

This is about the other side of the conversation.

The markets where communication is lacking.

The markets where promises don’t match reality.
The markets where vendors are expected to invest their time, money, inventory, travel, and energy, but don’t feel respected in return.

Every vendor has stories. Some incredible. Some frustrating. Some that still make you shake your head years later.

So consider this me sitting down with friends over a Negroni and asking:

What’s the best market experience you’ve ever had?

What’s the worst?

And what do you think every market host should be doing for their vendors?

I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

🌿 Good Morning! With just 2 sleeps until Shine’s Modern Folk Gathering, it’s time to get ready! 🌿

First things first...

✨ Admission is FREE both days! ✨

Friday, June 5 • 4:00 pm - 8:00 pmSaturday, June 6 • 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Here are a few tips to help make the weekend the best it can be:

✨ Bring an open mind and a positive attitude.

✨ Bring cash. Many of our Readers, Healers, Makers & Gatherers also accept e-transfer, debit, or credit, but cash is always a safe bet.

✨ Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. There is lots to see and do, and we want you to be comfortable while you explore.

✨ Arrive early for the best selection of reading and healing appointments. You can always book your sessions and return closer to your appointment time if you can't stay all day.

✨ Take time to browse the Maker & Gatherer booths. You never know what special treasure might be waiting for you.

✨ Interested in one of our classes? Reach out to the instructor to see if any spaces are still available.

✨ Don't forget to eat and drink! Amy's Country Kitchen will be on site with delicious food and beverages available for purchase.

✨ Be sure to visit the Community Canvas, add a ribbon to the Gathering Grove, enjoy our whimsical photo area, and check out the free talks happening throughout both days.

READINGS & HEALINGS

All readings and healing sessions are 20 minutes for $60 or 40 minutes for $120, payable directly to the Reader or Healer. Many of these practitioners charge significantly more for private appointments outside of the Gathering, making this a wonderful opportunity to experience their work.

Each Reader and Healer will have a sign-up sheet at their booth. Simply choose an available time, write your name in the slot, and return at least 5 minutes before your appointment.

There will be a "Next In Line" chair for you while you wait. Payment is made directly to the practitioner at the start of your session.

Please remember that appointments run on schedule so everyone has a chance to enjoy their experience. If you'd like more time or have additional questions, you are welcome to book another session if space is available.

I wanted to take a moment to recognize a very important woman in my life; my grandma.

This woman is an inspiration; at a young 70 years of age she decided she wanted to learn about aromatherapy!

She took a course online and she did it; she passed with flying colours! The amount of information she retained and can explain is inspiring!

Please congratulate my beautiful grandma on her accomplishment! We are so proud of her!!!
