The witch wound holds a collective and inherited rooted “trauma” in the historical persecution of women, healers, and independent thinkers—most notably during the European and colonial witch trials.
In modern psychology and spiritual practices, it shows up as a deep unconscious fear of speaking your truth, sharing your unique gifts, shining “too” bright, out of fear of public rejection, betrayal, or harm.
For many modern seekers, Salem serves as a symbolic place to confront inherited fear on persecution.

The inward journey to healing & reconciliation of the witch wound requires shifting from logical understanding to somatic (body-based), subconscious, and ritualistic inner work.
Because this trauma shapes the nervous system alarm response that screams “it is unsafe to be seen,” healing cannot happen through intellectualizing alone.
