When a mother-to-be first learned she was expecting, she was preparing financially and emotionally for one baby. Then she learned she was expecting triplets.

She was overjoyed—but the news also brought a very real sense of uncertainty. Working as a social worker on a contract basis, she knew that taking maternity leave with three babies instead of one would place significant pressure on her finances.

Thanks to the generous support of Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health, the Shoppers Women’s Care Cupboard at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) became an unexpected source of comfort and practical support throughout her journey.

From prenatal vitamins and pregnancy essentials to diapers, wipes, formula, bottles and breastfeeding supplies, the cupboard provided essential items for both the mom and her babies—helping ease some of the financial stress and making the transition home from the NICU a little easier.

We are incredibly grateful to Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health for their generous $50,000 gift to LHSF in support of the Shoppers Women’s Care Cupboard. Thank you for your incredible generosity and for your continued partnership in supporting women and families in our community. 💛

This morning, we celebrated the extraordinary generosity of longtime philanthropists Andy and Helen Spriet and their transformational $1-million gift in support of establishing a third cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Lab at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC).

“We’ve been fortunate to call London home for so many years and we know how important it is to have the right care available when you need it,” said Andy and Helen. “When we learned more about the need for a third EP Lab, it was a project we felt strongly about supporting.”
