But actually, we have a promotion going on right now.

Spend $300 on in-office skincare and receive a FREE gift with purchase, including our Dual-Action Exfoliating Polishs… one of my favourites.

It combines micro-refined magnesium crystals to physically polish and smooth the skin with salicylic acid to help control oil, decongest pores, and loosen built-up dead keratin.

And it comes with the cutest skincare headband and wristbands to complete your nighttime routine.

Laser season is SO back.

That tan you had all summer was your skin making extra pigment because UV was damaging it. The brown spots left behind are what we treat now.

IPL brings that pigment up to the surface. Your spots go darker for a day or two, then over the next several days they flake right off.

Come see Kylee for a photofacial. ⚡️💛

Microneedling is the one we reach for when skin is thin. Here’s the logic.

It works with a needle, not heat. Tiny channels, made on purpose, and your body repairs them. The repair is the whole point. It leaves more behind than it took.

That matters when there isn’t much to spare. Heat treatments trade some of your skin for the result. Needling doesn’t take anything off the top.

The numbers back it. In one study, six sessions two weeks apart left the top layer about 27 percent thicker by three months. Collagen VII went up too, and that’s the protein the anchoring fibres between your layers are made of. The exact thing that gets weak in thin skin.

Timing is the part people skip. After two sessions the numbers had barely moved. After six, all of them had.

It also carries very little pigment risk across skin tones, because there’s no light or heat competing with your melanin.

It’s a series, not an appointment.

Send this to whoever thinks one session should have done it.

Before we plan anything, we check how thick your skin actually is.

It changes what’s safe and what works.

Thickness isn’t the same on everyone, or even across your own face. Where it sits on the body is the biggest factor. Eyelid skin is a fraction of forehead skin. Age is next. Your lower layer loses collagen steadily over time, and research shows women have less of it than men at every age. Sun history and genetics fill in the rest.

You’ll usually know if you’re on the thin side. Veins show through at the temples and under the eyes. You bruise easily. Fine crinkly lines show up when you smile and disappear when your face relaxes.

That’s why we don’t put everyone on the same plan. Resurfacing lasers like CO2 remove and heat a controlled amount of skin. Great trade when there’s skin to spend. Thin skin doesn’t have it.

So we build first with something like microneedling. Resurfacing becomes a conversation later, once there’s more to work with.

Quick thing about the mirror: it shows you a flipped version of your face. Your camera doesn’t. Which is why the higher brow usually announces itself in photos before you ever notice it in the mirror.

Asymmetry is the default. The two halves of your face never develop as mirror images, and it gets easier to see with age as the volume that used to soften it thins out.

What matters is which kind you have. Bone and structure, tox can’t move. Volume loss on one side, that’s a different conversation. Muscle, where one side pulls harder and more often, is the one a few units can settle.

Here’s why the muscle kind shows so clearly. Most muscles in your body connect bone to bone. The muscles of facial expression anchor into the underside of your skin. When one outpulls its partner, you see it.

Which is also why this gets assessed in motion. Raise, smile, clench, talk. Asymmetry hides in a still face.

The goal was never a mirror-image face. That reads strange to the human eye. The goal is that the thing you keep noticing stops being the thing you notice.

Okay, correction: it’s salmon DNA*

Here’s the actual science. The ingredient is called PDRN. It’s purified DNA fragments extracted from salmon, and salmon DNA is almost structurally identical to human DNA, so your skin cells recognize it and respond to it.

It wasn’t discovered for skincare. PDRN was first developed in Italy as a wound-healing medication and used clinically for years on burns, ulcers and tissue repair. Doctors noticed the healed skin was coming back firmer and smoother than expected. Korea took that and ran with it, and PDRN became the gold-standard regenerative ingredient behind the glass skin trend. That’s where “salmon s***m facial” came from.

What it does in your skin: activates fibroblasts (the cells that make collagen), speeds up tissue repair, calms inflammation and improves circulation.

The catch is your skin barrier blocks most of it topically. So we don’t rub it on. We microneedle first, then infuse VAMP (our Canadian-made PDRN formula) through the micro-channels straight to the layer where collagen is made.

What clients notice: faster healing and less downtime first, then over the following weeks deeper hydration, smoother texture, firmer skin, softer fine lines. Results compound over a series.

As always, link in bio to book 🙂

Why prep your skin before laser?

Commonly, I start an exfoliation protocol for 1 to 2 skin cycles, about 60 days before laser, if we want the absolute best results.

Laser works by selectively targeting a chromophore, the stuff that gives you brown spots or red spots. But if a bunch of stuff is stopping the light from reaching the target, the treatment can be less effective. Who the heck wants that?

Even better is to add a product that will accelerate the skin’s ability to replace itself, such as retinol. This improves the skin’s capacity to extract the target, say pigment, better, faster, and more effectively.

My go-to is the ZO Daily Skincare Program, heavy on exfoliation, followed by a retinol. If you’re not already using retinol, we spend time acclimating your skin to it first.
