PS LETS DYE Natural dyeing, printmaking & weaving
Hands-on workshops + small-batch textiles
Rooted in ritual, craft & connection

PS LET’S DYE is a textile movement based in London, Ontario founded by Paulina Szczesny. Materials are uniquely hand dyed using traditional, natural methods and indigenous plants from all over Ontario. Natural dyeing allows for the elimination of harmful chemicals in treating materials. As a result of the over-consumption and toxic substances used in the textile industry, it has increased the envi

ronmental and cultural degradation. Within the textile industry, most branded and unbranded garments commonly found in the market use resins to control the shrinkage of material. Almost all commercially used resins contain formaldehyde or other harsh chemicals. PS LET’S DYE targets the use of healthy and sustainable methods, which inspires others to be conscious of the materials and chemicals used to create textiles. PS LET'S DYE is a showcase of finished products to work in progress, educating information about eco textiles, natural dyes, and alternative healing therapies. As a Textile Artist and BioEnergetic Practitioner and Wellness Consultant I wanted to infuse a name that would suit my passions for both art and alternative healing. PS LET'S DYE is not just about dyeing fabric or textiles, it's about playing, living your life to the fullest and healing the parts of ourselves that need healing.

As a textile artist, I have been very conscience about my material I use. Which is why I like to work with natural fibres; protein (silk, wool) and cellulose fibres (cotton, linen, rayon, bamboo). My collection of fabrics ranges from orders from wholesalers that are certified for organic fabrics, to great finds from second hand stores, buying from small businesses that are shutting down, to bulk and/or rolls of fabric that were kindly donated to me. Reuse, Reclaim, Recycle is one motto I stand by as best I can

What are deadstock textiles?

What is deadstock? Instead of ordering new from catalogue/overseas which most fashion designers and textile companies do. Some business are working with deadstock textiles. These textiles are materials that are no longer useful for other factories and companies. These rolls can be sold off due to various reasons:

- The textiles are no longer useful for the company's designs
- The company/factory had overstock of materials
- Fabric rolls that had slight damages that weren't worthwhile for a larger company to 'cut around'
- Custom textiles that were ordered from overseas didn't meet color matching requirements for a company
- The color/textile is no longer 'in season' for the company and not worthwhile to keep in stock

Gone are the days when brands could sell their latest designs without customers wanting to know how and where the garments were made, and the true cost of manufacturing. Consumers are demanding mor…

Hello Folks, I hope everyone is happy and well this summer! I have been away for most of this summer traveling abroad! I was in Budapest and my Baltic Ancestral Home in Poland.

One of the biggest highlights of my trip was visiting my Babcia Marta (grandmother) who turned 100 years old on July 4th! It was such a blessing to see her, talk and listen to her sing for us, what a beautiful soul! It was a wonderful trip, I still am digesting everything that happen and adjusting to the time change and life back home in London. However, so happy to back!

I have a couple of announcements to make, last summer I had to move from away what I thought was perfect studio/workshop space, and since then I moved my studio a few times this year. Finally, in May I had a permeant workshop built for me, my very own space to rule. I still have some work to do inside, AND I promise once its ready I will have a Open Studio and invite all you.
