As an animal communicator, people ask me about signs, symbols, feathers, birds, dreams, and anything that seems too perfectly timed to be a coincidence. But I'll be honest. I actually don't believe every 'sign' is a prediction.
My dog, Mickey, is currently battling kidney failure. Like anyone who deeply loves an animal, I've found myself wandering into the anxious 'what ifs?' As I sat with those thoughts, I had a vivid image of me lying in the grass with him, holding him close and saying our last goodbye. At that exact moment, I heard crows calling from somewhere nearby. Years ago, I would have interpreted that as a warning. But today, I see it totally differently. I think sometimes nature and our animals gently remind us to pay attention to the what exists RIGHT NOW. Not tomorrow. Not someday.
But now. Animals don't spend their days worrying about the future the way humans do. They live in the present moment with an honesty that most of us are still trying to learn. Mickey wasn't thinking about the crows. He wasn't thinking about the end. He was simply being Mickey. And I think THAT was the message. It wasn't to prepare for a loss. It was ✨DON'T MISS THIS MOMENT✨
Our relationships with our animals are special because they teach us how to love without conditions, without expectations, and often without guarantees. Every walk. Every muddy paw print. Every quiet moment on the couch. It all matters. So if you're lucky enough to have your animal with you today, give them an extra hug. Sit with them a little longer. Put your phone down and just watch them simply exist. One day we all face goodbye. But today is not that day. Today is for love 💛🐾
