Grounded Presence: Somatic Thai Massage for the Legs & Feet — one spot left.

This training is an invitation to deepen your presence, intuition, and touch while learning traditional Thai Massage techniques woven together with somatic awareness. With a focus on the lower body—legs and feet—you’ll learn traditional Thai Massage techniques that support grounding and help you develop a sense of stability and flow in your work with the body.

Whether you're a bodyworker, yoga teacher, practitioner, or simply feel called to learn this work, it is a beautiful opportunity to deepen your relationship with the body and gain skills you can use personally and professionally.

Registration closes Sunday evening, and I'll be finalizing the group then.

If you feel called to join us, I'd love to hear from you.

Love,
Sonja

Ever received a Thai massage that felt… routine?

Hands moving through a sequence, stretch after stretch—yet something in your body wasn’t really being met.

I hear this often from clients—that what they experience with me feels deeply different. More intuitive. More personal. Like their body is actually being listened to, rather than guided through the same routine.

There’s a reason for that.

Much of modern practice focuses on external technique, but the deeper roots of Thai massage are grounded in traditional theory—particularly the Sen (energy pathways) and the relationship between the physical body and the movement of energy within it.

At its heart, Thai massage is more than technique. It’s a practice of listening through both presence and understanding.

When I place my hands on a body, I’m not simply following a sequence.

I’m listening.

Where is there movement?
Where is there resistance?
Where has energy become stagnant?
What is asking to open, soften, or flow?

Thai massage offers a roadmap through the Sen—pathways connected to the movement of Lom (Wind)—working within the body’s physical form, Din (Earth), to support movement, nourishment, and release.

This is why my work is not just intuitive—it’s informed.

It’s rooted in deep feeling, but also anchored in traditional practice.

Every body tells a different story.
No two sessions are ever the same.

Because this work isn’t routine.
It’s relational.
It’s deeply attuned.
It’s intuitive—but also guided by the living foundations of Thai massage.

Rooted in presence, sensitivity, and deep listening.

This is simply the way I practice.
The way I teach.
And the way I continue to honor Thai massage as a living, breathing art.

GROUNDED PRESENCE: SOMATIC THAI MASSAGE FOR THE LEGS & FEET | 2.5-DAY TRAINING

This isn’t just about technique—it’s about becoming the kind of practitioner whose presence alone begins the healing.

Rooted in traditional Thai Massage traditions, you’ll learn foundational Feet & Legs routines, body mechanics, and theory. But more importantly, you’ll develop the grounded presence, rhythm, and embodied awareness that transforms your touch from skilled to sacred. Through hands-on guidance, Thai elemental theory, Sen Line awareness, and practical application, you’ll discover how to move from your centre, hold space with your whole body, and offer care that’s both sustainable and deeply effective.

You’ll also receive a detailed manual with photos and step-by-step descriptions of each technique, so you can continue integrating and refining your practice long after the workshop ends.

Whether you’re new to Thai Massage or deepening existing skills, you’ll walk away with practical techniques and an embodied framework that becomes part of who you are as a practitioner.

Training Dates: June 12–14 | Friday 6:00–8:00 PM | Saturday & Sunday 9:30 AM–approximately 4:00 PM

Investment: $597 | Includes 10 NHPC CECs

Intimate training held in my private studio in Lumsden | One spot remaining. Message to secure yours.

With warmth and excitement, Sonja

Stillness
is the deep end.

less doing

grounded presence,
refined touch,

✨ Something has been quietly building over the past year.

A deeper listening. A refining. A weaving together of everything I’ve been living and practicing within my work—
and the beginning of something I’m now ready to share. 🌱

🍃 To understand where this is going, I want to take you back to where it began…

One of my first teachers in Thailand spoke no English, yet in every movement, in every touch, she transmitted something that couldn’t be taught with words alone:
the rhythm, the flow, the essence of Thai massage itself.

That experience showed me how deeply grounding this work can be for the nervous system, and it awakened in me the ability to transmit that same presence and flow intuitively.

I carry that with me in every session. ✨

From there, I expanded my practice through advanced Thai massage trainings, Thai medical theory, and other body-centered modalities—each one contributing to the foundation of this work, woven together over two decades into a practice I now hold as both an art and a living form of presence.

About ten years ago, I entered into mentorship to become a teacher.
I began walking that path—learning structure, refining technique, and exploring how to guide others.

During that time, I created and taught a foundational Thai training…
but it became clear I was being called to something different.

So my path shifted.

I felt drawn into more intimate, one-on-one work, primarily with women, and into a deeper exploration of the body through somatic awareness, ta**ra, and the nervous system.

I stepped away from teaching then and followed where the work was leading me.

As I moved more deeply into one-on-one Ta**ra and somatic embodiment sessions—a practice that continues to be a powerful part of my work—I began to notice how the body responds when it feels truly supported.

How presence and nervous system awareness can open spaces that words cannot reach.

Gradually, the work I was doing began to infuse my Thai massage practice.

As my understanding of the nervous system deepened, the sessions began to shift in profound ways:
clients moved more freely, released more fully, and stepped into their bodies with greater ease.

The practice became more alive, more responsive, and more effortless.

Because it isn’t about doing more;
it’s about being fully present. 🤍

📖 About a year ago, after many practitioners had gently encouraged me to teach, I felt a different call:
to begin writing and refining this work.

I developed over 160 Thai massage techniques, weaving together everything I’ve learned from my teachers and integrating it with somatic awareness—allowing something to emerge that feels deeply rooted in my own embodied practice.

Even then, I wasn’t sure I would teach.
It was simply clear that I needed to write.

And now, it feels deeply aligned, and I feel a powerful pull to share this work with you. 🌸

Rather than offering everything in one large training, what feels most alive right now is to share this work through intimate, focused workshops—allowing each layer of the practice to be experienced slowly, embodied deeply, and integrated in a way that truly supports the nervous system.

Each workshop stands fully on its own, while also weaving together into a deeper, more complete experience for those who feel called to continue. 🌱✨

✨ The first:
Grounded Presence: Somatic Thai Massage for the Feet & Legs

This workshop invites you to explore the foundation of the body itself—

rooted in traditional Thai massage and experienced through presence, intuitive touch, and deep listening to the body. ✨

There are moments in my work where I just have to pause… and feel how much of an honour this truly is.

To hold women in a space where they can soften, ground, and return to themselves… whether through Thai Massage, or in deeper journeys where we move, feel, unravel, and rebuild from truth.

Each woman I work with carries such a unique and powerful story. And to be invited into that… to witness it, to support it, to walk alongside it… it’s something I hold with deep reverence.

Today, one of my clients shared the first five pages of a book she’s been writing.

I’ve been with her through so much of this journey—through the processing, the healing, the moments that asked everything of her… and now to witness her putting her story into words… it moved me deeply.

What an honour to be trusted in that way.
What an honour to witness someone become.

This work… it’s more than sessions, more than modalities.
It’s relationship. It’s devotion. It’s presence.

And I feel so much gratitude for every woman who has allowed me into her world in this way.

Truly… thank you 🤍
