I returned home this week with a full heart after spending four days at Splatsin Healing Week.

I had the honour of sitting with community members, hearing stories, sharing teachings, holding space, and creating traditional markings with intention and care. I even had the privilege of tattooing Elders and having an Elder sit in on one of my sessions, something I will carry with me for a very long time.
Many people have asked if I will be posting photos of all the tattoos from the week.

The answer is no.

While I am proud of every piece created, many of these markings were part of deeply personal healing journeys. They were connected to grief, recovery, identity, family, culture, and coming home to oneself. Those stories belong to the people who shared them.

Some work is meant to be witnessed by many.
Some work is meant to be held quietly.

This week reminded me that healing isn’t always something to display. Sometimes it is simply something to honour. To everyone who trusted me with their stories, their skin, their tears, their laughter, and their healing, thank you.
I carry those moments with gratitude.

You’re invited to join us for a fun, hands-on workshop where you can make a pair of Birch Bark Beaded Earings inspired by traditional beadwork techniques. This craft is simple, relaxing, and a great way to express your creativity.

All materials are provided—no experience needed. Come bead alongside community members and enjoy a welcoming space to learn, create, and connect.

As part of our time together, we encourage respectful dialogue around truth and reconciliation, helping us learn from one another and honour the cultures and histories that inspire this workshop.
