Something I appreciate about this work is how much it reminds me to pay attention in my own life, too.
It is easy to move through a week taking care of what needs to be done, answering messages, making plans, and thinking about what comes next. Even the things we love can become another part of a full day. Sometimes we reach Sunday and realize we haven’t really stopped to take any of it in.
Today, I’m thinking about the moments I want to give a little more attention to. A conversation that stays with me. Something that makes me laugh. A feeling I keep brushing aside because there hasn’t been time to sit with it. The kindness someone offers that I want to properly receive.
In Reiki and intuitive work, listening is such a big part of what I do. And that listening matters outside of a session as well. I need those moments to check in with myself, to notice how I’m feeling and what I may need.
Some days that connection comes easily. Other days my mind is busy, and I have to give myself a little time. I think there is value in being honest about that. Having a spiritual practice doesn’t mean we stop being human. We still have full days, unanswered questions, and moments when we could use a little care ourselves.
So today, I’m leaving a little room to be present with my own life. To appreciate what has felt good, acknowledge what has been difficult, and see what comes forward when I pause long enough to listen.
Perhaps there is something from your week that you would like to spend a little time with, too. Something you are grateful for, something you are still making sense of, or a moment you would like to carry into the days ahead.
You don’t have to share it. Sometimes it is enough to give it a quiet place in your heart.
With love,
Terri Anne
