At Ridge Meadows Hospice Society, we have a variety of resources and supports for grieving children and their families, including age-appropriate activities, educational resources, grief programs, and support for parents and caregivers.

Because children deserve a safe place to understand their loss, ask questions, and know that they aren't alone.

Pregnancy and infant loss can be hard to talk about.

Sometimes, it feels like there aren’t even words for it.

Pregnancy and infant loss can bring a kind of grief that is deeply personal and difficult to explain.

A miscarriage. A stillbirth. The loss of a baby shortly after birth. A pregnancy that ended unexpectedly. A loss that happened years ago but still feels close.

There is no timeline for when that grief should end, and no right way to carry it.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and we want to gently remind anyone who has experienced this kind of loss:

Your grief matters. Your baby matters. And you don't have to explain your loss for it to be worthy of care and compassion. 🤍

We're here for those who need a safe place to talk, remember, or simply be understood.

Grief can be different from one day to the next.

Some days, memories may bring comfort. Other days, they may bring tears. Sometimes, a familiar song, place, or little moment can bring someone we love to mind when we least expect it.

There is no need for grief to look the same every day. Missing someone is simply one of the ways we continue to carry the love we have for them.

We remember the children who never returned home and honour Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities.

Our Children’s Grief Group offers a safe, supportive space for children to connect with others who have experienced loss, express their feelings, and learn that whatever they’re feeling is okay.

A place to talk, create, connect, and simply be themselves. 🌿
