A recent Canadian poll found that nearly half of respondents have asked AI for medical advice, yet only 13% would be comfortable with AI diagnosing and prescribing treatment without a physician. Most would still prefer to wait to see a doctor rather than receive an immediate AI-generated diagnosis.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into health care, Canadians appear open to using it as a tool—but not as a replacement for the human judgment, empathy, and relationship that are central to good medical care.

AI may help us work more efficiently, but trust in health care is still built person to person.
