Meet Cantara — a Portuguese conservas brand bringing a more playful, contemporary personality to traditional tinned fish. Their sardines are rooted in Portugal’s long canning culture, but the presentation feels anything but old-fashioned.

The soft colours, quirky illustration and almost fashion-editorial feel are so refreshing. It’s the kind of tin you pick up because it looks beautiful… then come back for because it tastes good.

This one is Sardines in Olive Oil with Lemon — bright, savoury and beautifully balanced, with that little citrus lift that makes sardines feel lighter and fresher. 🍋

A really good cup is also a tiny daily luxury — something to look forward to before work, between emails, or during a slow weekend morning.

Meet Papa Anzóis - a tiny artisan producer from Portugal’s Algarve, created to bring back the region’s once-thriving fish-canning tradition. The brand launched in 2021, but the story behind it goes much further back.

And they do sardines a little differently 👀
Instead of the usual pre-cooking, the fish goes through a slow ~20-hour dehydration process before canning — helping keep that juicy, delicate texture. Everything is produced in small batches, with the tins packed by hand at mainland Portugal’s certified artisanal cannery.

Basically… not your average tin of sardines. 🐟✨
