670 Collective MTB Club

670 Collective MTB Club Alberta's best kept secret in mountain bike riding.

670 Collective Mountain Bike Club is a registered non-profit, volunteer-run organization affiliated with the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA). Located in the beautiful Canadian Badlands, we are the voice of the off-road cycling community in and around Medicine Hat, Alberta. Our hard working members not only design, build, and maintain sustainable trails in the Cypress Hills Interprov

incial Park and South Saskatchewan River Valley, but we are also the initiators of the Redcliff Bike Skills Park. Rewarded with one of the longest riding seasons in the country, local mountain bikers ride two distinctive landscapes within an hour of each other making it an exciting and unique riding destination. 670 Collective riders race across western Canada and the US, collect and fix bikes for underprivileged kids, travel abroad to other popular riding locations and are the organizers of the Battle Creek Showdown, a fun weekend of mountain bike racing and live music in Elkwater.

Hey 670mtnbike here is your weekly trail report!

After an epic weekend of racing in Medicine Hat at the Badlands Bash the trails remain in great and fast shape!
Weekend laps reported fast conditions and that held true this week. Viper and Sidewinder are fast! Really fast! Coker still has a bit of softness in the cat tails just before the second bridge. Everything in Echodale is also fast! Vegetation is starting to get a little long in some areas, especially Thin Lizzy. Stay tuned for a call for volunteers to help with that in the next week.
There has also been a few cougar sightings reported in the valley around Coker so keep an eye out.
We haven’t been out on Smithers yet after the high river tides, but it’s probably safe to assume it’s still wet.

Redcliff is flowing great! We had a crew out to inspect the reported issues on Dial Pack and clean up a few of the corners. All is good in the valley now! Tequila Sunrise is shining bright after the heavy rains.

Out at Elkwater things are recovering after being water logged. Canadiana refresh was finalized and is ready to roll. Some work was done on Tragically Steep this week, and there are some new trees downed in some areas. Check out Western Trail Fabricators Ltd. for more details.

Don’t forget, club spring social and ride is this Saturday 13 June in Elkwater. Wheels rolling at 3:00pm from the Visitor Center followed by potluck dinner. Graciously sponsored by Gravity Sports Medicine Hat
Hidden Oasis Ultra will also be holding at race in the park so ride with an eye out for runners on the trails.

We have a couple trail maintenance days upcoming and we’ll be looking for volunteers.

21 June in Medicine Hat for mowing and trimming.

20 & 28 June in Elkwater.

Happy riding!

Hey here is your weekly trail report!

All the trails everywhere are wet. That is all.

But for real, we’ve received a lot of rain over the last week and things are pretty wet out there. Elkwater is a bit water logged, have a look at what has updated about life in the park.
In Redcliff we’ve had another “do it yourself” feature modification halfway down Dial Pack. It’s reported the jumps are riding a bit dangerous as a result. Please use caution and we’ll try to get a crew out in the next week hopefully to fix them up.
Medicine Hat has a lot of soft areas and some mud in the lower parts of the trails. Hopefully between the warm weather today (before we got more rain this evening) and a warm day tomorrow they will dry up enough for the Badlands Bash scheduled for Saturday. Watch and as they’ll make the call on Friday with both rider and trail safety in mind.

Happy riding!

Good evening ! Here is your weekly trail report.

Redcliff - Both bridges on Death Valley are in need of some love at the entrances. Seems the rain last week has eroded them a bit. Danger Noodle sighting are increasing with the warm weather. One of our newly minted Trail Ambassadors was gracious enough to lead a father/daughter duo out of the valley after they were found admiring an adult Noodle. Lumpy Gravy is gonna need a haircut soon.

Elkwater - Everything is riding great and has been working out to make sure that happens. Club group ride last night hit the loop that will forever be known as “The BCS loop that wasn’t” and it was great. One freshly downed tree on the climb.

Medicine Hat - Two other club rides took to Gas City this week for some fresh and fast laps. All trails are reported as running tight and clean.

A lot of wet in the forecast for the next week so conditions can change quickly with what’s expected.

Keep an eye out for our new Trail Ambassadors from the club sporting the bright green shirts! If you need some directions or trail info they’re happy to help out!

Just over one week away from Badlands Bash hosted by and ! It’s sure to be a wicked day on the trails!

Happy riding!

Hey ! It’s time to get ready for the Spring Ride & Social event!

Saturday 13 June 26! Sponsored by !

We’ll kick things off with a group ride from the Elkwater Visitor Center at 15:00 sharp!

When the ride is done you’ll be hungry, so we’re having a potluck supper! Gravity is supplying the main protein, we ask everyone to bring a group side of your choosing, or more protein. You can never have too much protein. Also, bring your own beverages, adult or otherwise.

Gravity has also reserved the main group campsite so bring your tent and stay the night. Especially if you’re indulging in some post ride adult beverages. Did someone say late night smores?

Hope to see you all there!

Hey here is your weekly trail report!

The long weekend snow followed by some rain this week have given the vegetation around Echodale and Gas City a boost. Nothing is crazy yet but the lower part of Coker is spouting up. It’s also helped keep the dust down and you may find a puddle or two out there today.

Elkwater is a different story. The precipitation has made many of the trails soft which has lead to some riders leaving some noticeable ruts on the trails. Nothing is “closed” however the folks out there and recommend giving it a few days to dry out to prevent damage. If you find yourself in an area that has you sinking in a bit and leaving big tracks please slow down and consider an alternate route.

Recliff may have you finding a bit of muddy spots on the lower trails but that should dry up quickly with the forecast ahead.

Don’t forget, ladies ride tonight @ 6:30 rolling from Gas City. Also, get your rides in and collect your stickers from with their 2026 Trail Challenge!

2 weeks away from Badlands Bash hosted by & .

Be sure to enjoy the Balloon views around town this weekend!
