Simple.

The next time you have a conversation with a Mamma, remember this.

Give her space to feel, express, and to know that she is heard.

Fight against the urges to suggest or give advice. Instead, just give space and truly listen.

That in itself can be healing 💚

Beautiful message.

It takes a village to....

》raise a child
》manage mental health
》get s**t done
》have fun
》enjoy life
》move house

And so much more!!

Where has the village gone??

Since when was the:

"you gotta do it on your own and figure it out, tough it out, life ain't easy"

kind of mentality deemed ok?!?!?!?!!

I get it. For some of us, there is no village. Literally. Some of us live far from family and friends and have no choice but to do it alone. Some of us have family and friends but they've disappeared from your life.

So with this, I challenge you.

Is there any space, place, or person you can think of that will help you build that connection? That village?

An online community? A local group in your community? Going to the park? Waterfront? It doesn't have to be a "mommy group"....it can be any group or person that feels right.

Find a space or place that RESONATES with your ❤ and go for it. (When you're ready). Nothing to lose.

AND for those of us that believe we need to do it alone....

Simply put: NOPE! You don't. That's some new age mentality BS I don't subscribe to.

Are you choosing to do it alone? Is it hard to trust and that's why? Are you able to find some sort of way to allow another human in, even if it's to listen? OR maybe listening to someone else helps too? Is it scary? It's ok....I've felt all this too. AND still do.

But...we can choose to:

Reflect. Seek. Connect. (When you're ready of course).

So for the Mammas out there reading this:

The village isn't as easy to come by for some, so create it. Your village might be one person. Or maybe a group. But CHOOSE to see what you CAN do, and do it.

🗣 Let's chat sensory & calmin🗣

When we consider the midline of the body, we can see this as a space where we:

• ground into🧘🏾‍♀️
• bring a hug into 🫂
• find alignment
• can connect to our Chakras

And so much more!

So let's look at what sensory experiences at the midline of the body look like:

For a babe: thumb sucking, pacifier, hand in mouth

For an adults: twirling hair, biting a pen, cradling a pillow to the stomach

So according to .ets:

"When babies aren't getting that sensory input or are not getting enough to ground and feel calm and secure in the body, they look towards the midline - sometimes breast feeding for 45 minutes beyond what they need nutritionally, sucking on the ni**le.

The oral motor area, being an intimate area for some, is where the mouth and jaw have tiny muscles and the pressure of sucking creates deep pressure that has calming effect."

So consider this when thinking about comforting your child or when your child is experiencing a longer then usual feed.

(Disclaimer: this isn't the only reason for longer feeds, just one thing to consider)

So...

What does your child do? What do you notice? Awareness is key.

For my son, he finds comfort in sticking his hand between my b***s, and nowhere else. He falls asleep this way and when he's feeling upset, nervous, excited...he does the same.

More on the senses soon! (There's not just 5!)

My mini me. A little throwback to when he was tiny and waaaaaaay less mobile! How I miss those days of crawling, gummy little smiles, and nursing.

Note to all the Mammas:

Today when you hang out, chill out, with your babe (or babes!), soak up all their goodness.

Feel all the things.

And let it be that moment in your day where you breathe them in.

Feel that joy like you would in a hot shower on a frigid day.

Yes, it goes by fast.

But!

Treasuring these moments & letting them sink into your being, will truly allow you relive them in the future again 🥰

P.S.

Totally unrelated to this post: Definitely don't moose with a Mamma Moose!

⁉️ Not sure what's unaligned in the universe 🌌 these days buuuuut....

It's been quite a week for me❗ A lot of ups and downs emotionally. 😄🙃😡😭

I've done small but powerful things here & there to lift my vibrations 💫 and it definitely is grounding...

From meditations, to surrendering, to tears, to making my version of ramen 🍜, to buying cookies 🍪....

(Hit me up if you wanna know my ramen recipe 😋)

I've even slept 😴 more than I ever have since having a child!! (2 nights in a row! Might not seem like a lot...but for me, it is!)👍🏽

But one thing that has kept me in a place of deeper grounding, is being present while being with my little person 🙋🏾

When I'm fully immersed in his energy & light, I'm truly living in joy 😌💞

So today we:
• went on a family bike ride 🚴🏾‍♂️🚴🏾‍♀️ • visited a school playground
• played "basketball" 🏀 using one of his fruit pouch covers ⛹🏾‍♂️⛹🏾‍♀️⛹🏾
• looked for rocks 🪨 to throw in drains

He calls it "feeding the drains because they are soooo hungry!"

And so (for now) that little outing, really lifted me 🙂

Did it take away my feelings of lower vibrations? Yup! Why? Because I CHOSE to be present and soak up the joy.

I'm never looking for something to rid of these lower feelings/vibrations...because the thing is..life wouldn't evolve for me if I never had low points.

So, ask yourself:

"❓What can I do, right now, to lift me, even if just for a few moments ❓"

Find that thing. 🧐

Immerse & welcome it into your being into it. 🤗

And soak it ALL up. 😛😏

Let it permeate through all your cells.🧘🏾‍♀️

And then....BE grateful for it 🥰

Sending yall love & light

Everything will be 🆗️...

How do I know?

I don't. Lol. (Sooooo helpful I know 😆)

Here me out! 👂🏽

What I do know, is that we always will come out stronger, wiser, knowing just a bit more than we did before.

If you take a look back at the beginning of your parenting journey to now - even if it's only been a few days - you've grown.

Hard to trust the process? 🤔 At times I'm sure this is true.

💡This might even be a moment where you reflect and ask: why don't I trust? And just notice where that takes you.

So close your eyes 😌, feel your breath and remind yourself of other moments that have been challenging.

You got through them. You learned. There was probably resentment, anger, worry, loneliness....and then tears.

But then you saw that smile😊.

Felt those fingers🖐🏽.

Watched them sleep😴.

And maybe even got a little p*e on ya 🙃

And for that brief moment in time, all was well 🥰

So when all else fails....remember that warm feeling............when the p*e landed on you 😉

Think about it...

We know how to sleep, but when do you have a hard time sleeping? What gets in the way of this process?

Is something on your mind?

Is the environment not conducive to sleep?

Too cold? Too hot?

Distractions?

Loud sounds? Too quiet?

Hungry?

Worried? Scared? Sad? Excited?

Breathing troubles? Allergies perhaps? Potential sleep apnea? Body feeling unsettled? Hopped up on sugar? Bloated?

The. List. Goes. On.

BUT...you WANT to sleep. You've done it before 😴 Super frustrating though...I know. I feel you.

So this is the same for our little humans.

Except - they can't verbally tell you. So they:

• cry
• wake often
• make noises
• bang around
• wail

It's their language. (Not always easy to hear...I know. Been there).

Responsiveness is huge in letting babies 👶🏽 know that we hear👂them & are there to help them. They will cue more & build trust.

(And this is the same for adults!)

So my thoughts:

Listen. Learn. Support. Guide. Love. Be kind to yourself as it all gets sorted.

And let's bring the body back to a state of homeostasis.

In love & light

Please! No pictures! 📸

I remember when he was first born, I was super protective of pictures being posted online.

I had no rhyme or reason as to why.🤔

But I just knew I wasn't ready to share him with an online network. 🙄 In fact, I wasn't even on Instagram yet & barely used Facebook!

So...

I spoke up when someone close to me did. And they posted with so much love & beautiful intentions, but I just couldn't say "it's ok...leave it up"

Why??

Because I wasn't comfortable. And I didn't need to explain it to anyone. But rather, speak up for my . ✋🏽

So to all the Mammas out there: it's 🆗️ to have loving boundaries.

How the other party processes it, is up to them. That's their business, not yours.

Just like training our physical muscles🏋🏾‍♀️, this skill requires practice!

Your business is you, your boundaries & your babe. Just do your best to deliver it with kindness 💌

End. Of. Story.

In love & light

Not another lockdown!!

Here we go! We got this. There's so much we can do during this time to support our mental health - even though you may be thinking....ummmm...yeah right!!

Some tips to help move you through this time:

1. It will be okay. 🥰

2. This is temporary.😏

3. Breathe...this is still open and available to you! 💨

4. Look up at the sky...it's still open!🌌🌅

5. Hug a tree....seriously. Still open! 🌳

6. Watch something funny! Definitely still open! 😆

7. Reach out to someone you love, feel safe with and gives you the warm fuzzies🫂

8. Eat a cookie....maybe even dip it in tea or warm milk 🍪🍵☕

9. Move your body! Walk, run, skip, stroll, use weights, dance while sitting, stretch in bed before leaving the bed...just move!! Shift that energy! 🏃🏾‍♀️🏋🏾‍♀️🤹🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️

10. Repeat after me: I got this! 💪🏾

Let the love you have for your child, OVERPOWER the outside noise of judgement, articles, criticism & unsolicited advice.

You may not always FEEL like you know what to do. However, if you choose to: quiet that outside noise, breathe and just listen...

🧘🏾‍♀️

You WILL hear your intuition. That voice may be tiny or loud but the more you tune in, that voice will be your empowerment.

💗

So today, trust the knowing that's inside of you. The one is always there for you.

If the trust isn't quite there yet - it's ok! Listen to your child. They will remind you 👶🏽

Sending love & light always 💫💞
