These three were doulas before most people knew what a doula was.

Yesterday, The WOMB Guelph welcomed longtime friends and colleagues Lorri Fleming -The WOMB | The Nest, Nadine Britton and Lisa Caron for a very special reunion.

Their roots in birth and postpartum care go back decades, to a time when the role of a doula was far less understood than it is today.

Together, they’ve spent years nurturing families, educating other birth workers and helping shape the communities of care we know today.

The women, the relationships and the community have always been at the heart of this work.

It was a very special reunion 🤎

We can’t believe we’re saying this but September is only a couple weeks away.

For many of our families, that means a new school year, new routines, and a fresh season beginning 🍂

It also happens to be one of our busiest months at The WOMB.

Our fall classes, workshops, support circles, movement programs and community offerings are already filling up, so now is the time to save your spot.

And if you’re new here?

September might just be the perfect time to walk through our doors.

Come for a class, stay for a cup of tea, and don’t be surprised if you leave with a new best friend.

Because that’s the thing about The WOMB.

You may come looking for support, education or care, but here you’ll find your village too.

There’s something you feel when you walk through the doors of The WOMB.

It’s different here 🤍

We’re not just another clinic. We’re not a fitness studio. In fact, we’re neither of those things.

The WOMB was created to be a place you can come back to, again and again, as life changes around you.

A place for care and education. For movement and healing. For questions and conversations. For finding people who understand the season you’re in, and discovering support you didn’t know was available.

Sometimes you’ll come for an appointment. Sometimes a class. Sometimes you might just need a cup of tea, a comfortable couch, or a place where you can exhale for a little while.

Because care was never meant to happen in isolation. And neither was life.

From the earliest changes in your body, through fertility, pregnancy and postpartum, into parenting, perimenopause, menopause and beyond, there is space for you here.

Every age. Every stage. One community to grow alongside you.

Come home to The WOMB.

Your village might look different in every season.

The people you lean on through pregnancy may not be the same ones you need postpartum. The support that carries you through early motherhood may evolve again as your children grow, your body changes, or you find yourself entering an entirely new chapter.

That’s the thing about a village.
It isn’t meant for just one moment in your life.

It grows with you. It meets you where you are. It reminds you that asking for support is part of being human.

Through all the ages, stages, beginnings, endings, and everything in between, there’s space for you here.

Village found ♥️

When people hear The WOMB, they often think pregnancy, babies, and new motherhood.

We’d like to let you in on a little secret, The WOMB is for everyone.

Mandi Neiser is one of our beloved Care Team members at The WOMB Bruce County , and she wrote a beautiful piece that is now live on our Substack and BC’s blog.

In it she explores how she and her husband are now seniors. Their children are grown and these days life looks a little more like grandchildren, gardening, golfing, and learning how to care for bodies that have carried them through decades of living.

Mandi beautifully shares her own experiences with osteopathy, massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, physiotherapy, and naturopathic care at The WOMB, and a reminder we think more people need to hear:

Growing older doesn’t mean simply accepting pain or discomfort as “part of aging.”

The WOMB has always been about caring for the whole person through the many seasons of life. Pregnancy and postpartum are part of that story, but they are far from the whole story.

Whether you’re 28 or 78, there is space for you here ♥️

Read Mandi’s full essay, Wellness Doesn’t Have an Age Limit, on Wisdom from The WOMB through the link in our bio.

And remember to subscribe for more “musings and moments that matter”, as Lorri Fleming -The WOMB | The Nest says.

You don’t need to be anything here other than yourself.

You don’t need to have the right words.
You don’t need to have it all together.
You don’t need to hide the parts that feel heavy.

Show up joyful.
Show up grieving.
Show up hopeful.
Show up uncertain.

All emotions.
All stages.
All ages.

You are welcome here.

Whether you’re searching for answers, navigating change, celebrating new beginnings, or simply needing a place to exhale, we’ll meet you where you are.

We’re here to hold space for you.
Always.

🤍

Stopped by The WOMB Woodstock to say hello to some of our favourite people 🤍

Dear you,

All of you. Every woman who has ever walked through one of our doors — whether that was twelve years ago or last week, whether you came in once or have been here through every chapter.

We remember why you came. The appointment you almost cancelled. The question you finally asked out loud. The first time you heard your baby’s heartbeat within these walls. The postpartum visit where you said, for the first time, that you weren’t okay. The appointment that felt routine but changed something anyway.

We’ve been part of thousands of stories we’ll never fully know. That’s not something we take lightly.

You trusted us with the parts of yourself that aren’t easy to share — your body, your fears, your questions, your becoming. You let us be present for some of the most significant moments of your life, and some of the quietest ones too.

Twelve years of this work has taught us one thing above everything else: women deserve care that actually sees them. Not just their symptoms. Not just their stage of life. Them.

We built this for you. We kept going because of you.
Thank you for walking through the door.

With love,
The WOMB
