In honour of Indian Arrival Day 🇮🇳 ➡️ 🇹🇹🌴
Celebrated in Trinidad May 30th honouring the first Indians to arrive in Trinidad in 1845.

The coconut tree has always symbolized more than home to me.

Growing up in Trinidad, my grandmother taught me how coconuts are used with purpose and intention.

Those lessons shaped how I view beauty, wellness, and sustainability today.

In fact, coconut oil became one of the first ingredients that inspired Teal N Bronze and remains a foundational ingredient in every body butter I handcraft.

What began as ancestral knowledge passed from one generation to the next continues to live on through the rituals we create and share today.

Today, I honour my ancestors’ journey from India to Trinidad and my parents’ journey from Trinidad to Canada.

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is “Give to Gain.”

When we give women a chance — in leadership, in business, or through education — the impact reaches far beyond one life.

When a woman rises, her family rises.
Her community rises.

In 2025 through Teal N Bronze, we supported the education of a young girl in India through iPartner India. What makes that especially meaningful to me is that it was made possible by the people who gave me the opportunity to make a difference via my dream - a purpose driven business - a chance to live.

Every time someone supports a woman building something in the world, they help expand what is possible for someone else. Opportunity has a ripple effect.

Today I’m celebrating the power of giving women a chance — and the many people who believe in us along the way.
