Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot: A Study Pathway with Permanent Residence Opportunities
Canada is currently accepting study permit applications under the Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot (FMCSP), a federal initiative for eligible French-speaking international students from participating countries who wish to pursue post-secondary studies in Francophone minority communities outside Quebec.
The pilot provides eligible students with an opportunity to study in Canada and potentially transition to Permanent Residence after graduation, provided they meet the applicable requirements.
To qualify for the FMCSP, applicants must:
📍Be a citizen of an eligible country
📍Have a Letter of Acceptance from a participating designated learning institution (DLI) for an eligible program
📍 Demonstrate French-language proficiency of at least NCLC 5 in speaking, listening, reading and writing
📍 Demonstrate sufficient funds for tuition and living expenses, including expenses for accompanying family members
📍Be outside Canada at the time of application
📌 Current intake cap: 2,970 study permit applications
📅 Application period: Until August 25, 2027, or until the cap is reached
Following completion of an eligible program, FMCSP participants may be eligible to apply for Permanent Residence if they meet the applicable requirements.
