In reality, I do often talk about gardening tips with my patients. In fact here’s a list of topics you can expect to discuss with me during your treatment, regardless of how much pain you’re in 🤷‍♂️ ⬇️

- coffee
- cars
- we do not randomly bring up weather just because but if it’s related to your plans or something else then sure
- gardening tips (I need help!)
- food
- listening to me talk about my 1 year old
- how awesome our playlist is 🎵
- some more soccer

The 4 keys for a successful project ⬇️

1. Find the A-Team. Your place is only as good as the people in it. You could have the best equipment in the world, the best location ever, even a successful brand behind you, BUT the staff you pick need to have that energy about them that inspires everyone around them. My top priorities when picking team members are: professionalism, drive, consistency, loyalty, creativity, initiative, just to name a few.

2. Find your WHY. This may be cliche but there’s no other way around continuity other than having that anchor in your life that will keep you consistent. Every business owner will have days where motivation may be meh, or things turn for the worst, and it feels like everyone is uphill. But that’s why knowing what picks you up is crucial. For me, I happened to have opened up this practice around the time I just had a baby girl (what was I thinking?! 😅). But actually it takes me literally 0.7 seconds to pick myself up if I’m tired or down after I think of her and how I want to be a role model for her. So in short, have the driver in the back of your mind and it’ll be your secret weapon 😈

3. Systems / habits build businesses. You simply can’t wing it, no matter how talented your group may be or how impressive your resume is. I found it incredibly helpful to assign roles among your partners and team members, have dedicated roles, and times in your week for certain things. You’ll notice things will run smoother, and it’ll open up energy/focus for other things.

4. Lastly, budgeting. Ouuff how important is this last one?! Don’t overspend in the beginning - trust me you’ll thank yourself. Resist the urge to go nuts on the fanciest renos or equipment, and focus on the essentials that drive outcomes first. Then I found it very sustainable to gradually reinvest for growth - but only at a pace that genuinely matches your growth. My particular field is filled with dramatic interiors, attractive branding and so many ways to splurge on unnecessary things, but I find the places that end up being true community staples are the ones that focus on the most important things first.

It’s harder to do this with one hand and I’m too lazy to set up a tripod in my kitchen 😅

But for the record, this was delicious 🤤

This will fuel my physio treatments!

You won’t expect this recommendation…

But have you ever done a little bit of cardio or a light workout before a game night? 🤔

The point of this approach is to optimize circulation, activate energy pathways, and actually calm the mind/nervous system.

During a ⚽️ match you’ll need optimal aerobic and anaerobic energy. So don’t overdo it, but a light low impact form of cardio like the elliptical or stationary bike is a perfect way to get the Krebs cycle going 🤓 (who remembers science class?) but without touching the glycogen stores or tapping into any nervous system fatigue.

You also play the best when you’re calm and relaxed. Not in a couch potato way, but in a clear mind context. And it’s been show that you are mentally sharper and more engaged, and less anxious, after some exercise - some of these mental benefits last a while so if you did a pre-lunch 20-30 mins cardio bout you’d still feel great for that night’s game!

Don’t shoot it till you try it. I was even surprised myself she I tried this. I was called up for the year older squad when I was playing for I think I was 15 years old, and so I decided I’m gonna hit sone cardio since most likely I’d be on the bench or get minimal minutes. I didn’t think it would actually help me play better! Well wouldn’t you know it, I played the 90 mins, and considering I was generally a fast twitch player that ran out of energy fairly quickly most of my career - I’m telling you I felt like I was flying. Smooth on the ball, not a care in the world, and I felt like I could keep running all game and then some!

Oh and here’s what you shouldn’t do: REST like a 🛋️ 🥔😅 it’ll just make you feel lethargic, slow, and stressed for your game.
