MW Classical Osteopathy

MW Classical Osteopathy Classical Osteopathy Osteopaths use physical techniques. They find the health, rather than focus on disease.

Osteopathy is a profession that makes extensive use of manual diagnosis and treatment and emphasizes the interrelationship between structure and function of the body. It is a drug-free science and seeks to identify the causes of problems rather than just treating the symptoms. Contrary to popular belief, it can be used to treat many disorders and diseases, not just backaches. Treatments remove blockages and imbalances and restores optimum health.

The polygon of force 🌞

Gravity 🌍acts on our body 24-7. There is no escaping it. These old Osteopathic charts explore the forces acting through our spine, to understand how and why our spine acts as it does against gravity. Lines on the left and right diagrams show lines of force travelling from the front of the spine to the back and then the back to the front-respectively.
By combining these lines, as in the central diagram, we get a 3 dimensional picture of how the cranium sits directly above the pelvis. Where these force lines combine, it produces a very important area where the head effectively balances in front of the 4th Dorsal vertebrae.

Spinal curves, articulations, boney structures and functional ability all respond and develop through reflexes, multi-directional movement and most of all: PLAY in babies, children and adults.
So what ever age you are, reconnect with that inner child and move-freely, innately, in all ways and have fun while doing it.

Crawl, squat, walk, run, climb, swim, hang, jump, hop, fall, get up
Keep developing the spine and the body. Keep moving.
