A great reminder of why regular dental hygiene visits matter, especially for patients with fixed lingual retainers.

In these images, you can clearly see how quickly calculus (tartar) builds up around the retainer. This area is particularly challenging to keep clean because traditional flossing isn’t possible. Patients need to use floss threaders, super floss, or a water flosser to effectively clean around the wire.

Even with excellent home care, plaque can easily accumulate and harden in these hard-to-reach areas. That’s why frequent professional dental cleanings are crucial.

Frequent visits with your dental hygienist are essential to remove stubborn deposits and maintain healthy gums.

Caring for Your Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is a fixed prosthetic designed to replace one or more missing teeth. Proper oral hygiene is essential to maintain the health of the supporting (abutment) teeth and the surrounding gum tissue.

It’s recommended to brush your dental bridge at least twice daily. While traditional flossing may be more challenging, you can still effectively clean underneath the bridge using tools such as super floss, a floss threader, or a water flosser.

Regular dental hygiene visits are also important. Professional cleanings help remove biofilm, plaque, stains, and tartar buildup that cannot be fully addressed at home.

Celebrating 1 year of My Dental Hygiene Studio

One year ago, I took a leap of faith and opened My Dental Hygiene Studio, not fully knowing where the journey would lead, but knowing it came from my heart.
Today, I’m celebrating the first anniversary of my independent dental hygiene clinic with so much gratitude and appreciation.

Becoming a business owner has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’m beyond thankful for my friends and family who supported me every step of the way, encouraged me during the challenging moments, and celebrated the milestones with me.

To my wonderful clients, thank you for placing your trust in me and for allowing me to care for you, your loyalty and kindness mean everything.

Most of all, I am endlessly grateful for my husband, my rock and my biggest supporter. Your belief in me, patience, and constant encouragement made this dream possible.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible first year. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come, and I’m excited for all that’s still ahead.
