Growing up, we’re often asked what we want to be.
Doctor. Teacher. Lawyer. The big titles.
But for me, that question always felt heavy.
I struggled academically through middle and high school, just getting by alongside my friends. So when I thought about my future, I didn’t feel excited, I felt discouraged. I wasn’t sure I would ever truly find my path.
After graduating, I gave myself a few years to work and figure things out. Still, that question never left my mind. The idea of going back to school felt overwhelming, knowing how hard I had to push just to pass before.
But one day, something clicked.
Every job I had held up to that point had one thing in common, I loved helping people. I loved making others feel heard, cared for, and better than when they walked in.
At the same time, health and fitness had always been a big part of my life. So I thought… what about massage therapy? Maybe it could be a stepping stone into something else.
What I didn’t realize at the time was that it wouldn’t be a stepping stone, it would be it.
For the first time, learning came naturally. Because I was genuinely interested. Passionate. Invested. Anatomy, movement, the way the body responds to stress, injury, and healing,it all fascinated me.
And it still does.
Fourteen years later, that curiosity hasn’t faded. If anything, it’s grown. I continue to learn about the human body every day, the complexity of it, the resilience of it, and the deep connection between our physical and nervous systems.
Massage therapy didn’t just become my career.
It became something I fell in love with.
And 14 years ago, I became a Licensed Massage Therapist, a path I’m still incredibly grateful I chose.
