Is that "callus" on your foot actually a wart?
Plantar warts are small, rough growths on the sole of the foot caused by a common virus called HPV (human papillomavirus).
🔍 Common signs to look for:
- A rough, grainy spot on the bottom of your foot
- Tiny dark dots within the lesion
- A growth that interrupts the normal lines of your skin
🦠 How they spread:
The virus thrives in warm, moist places like pool decks, locker rooms, and shared showers. It enters through tiny cuts or breaks in the skin.
⚠️ Why waiting it out isn't always the answer:
Over-the-counter products don't work for everyone, and stubborn warts can last months or even years without proper treatment.
