IT’S NOT THE SAME.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the source behind the things we do.
Two people can do exactly the same thing for completely different reasons.
I can help someone in need because I genuinely care, because it makes me feel like a good person, because it fills something in me, or, in my own spiritual journey, because it comes from what God is creating in me.
Same action. Different source.
And I think the same applies to our health.
Two people can eat the exact same healthy meal.
One because they were told they should.
Because it’s part of a diet.
Because social media says it’s healthy.
The other because they understand what that choice provides to their body and the value it brings to their life.
Same plate. Different source.
There’s nothing wrong with starting by following a rule. Sometimes we follow before we understand.
But understanding can transform:
“I eat this because I should”
into
“I choose this because I understand why it matters.”
And maybe that’s the bigger question, not only with food, but with so many areas of our lives:
Not only, “What am I doing?”
But, “Where is it coming from?”
So ask yourself:
DO YOU EAT HEALTHY BECAUSE YOU SHOULD?
OR BECAUSE YOU UNDERSTAND WHY IT MATTERS?
ARE YOU FOLLOWING HEALTHY RULES?
OR DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHY YOU CHOOSE THEM?
Same action. Different source.
IT’S NOT THE SAME.
