Do you know why hydroquinone may be found in some lash adhesives? 🔬
Hydroquinone can be used as a stabilizer or inhibitor, helping prevent certain adhesive formulas from curing prematurely inside the bottle.
However, hydroquinone has recognized chemical hazard warnings. Depending on the concentration and level of exposure, it may irritate or sensitize the skin and can seriously damage the eyes.
This doesn’t mean that its presence guarantees an injury—actual risk depends on concentration, exposure and proper handling. But lash adhesives are used very close to the delicate eye area, which is why ingredient transparency matters.
