The other day someone asked me,
“Laura, what actually is mobility health?” ...and Kristin Zerbin you were not the only one asking me this 🤣
And honestly, I loved the question because we talk about it so much with LUVA™, but I realized most women have never had it explained in simple, real-life words.
So here’s my very non-medical explanation 🤍
Mobility health is basically how well your body helps you move through your life.
Your:
🦴 bones help hold you up
💪 muscles help you stay strong and capable
🦵 joints help you bend, twist, squat, hike, walk, and move comfortably
🤸 flexibility and balance help you move with confidence
💧 hydration, recovery, and cellular energy help everything work together a little better
When those things are supported well… you simply feel more free in your body.
You can:
✨ get up off the floor without making strange little sound effects ;)
✨ carry groceries without your shoulders yelling at you
✨ hike, ski, golf, garden, travel, dance, pickleball, and keep up with life
✨ feel strong, steady, energized, and confident in your body
The interesting part?
Most women don’t think about mobility health until something starts hurting, stiffening, weakening, or feeling harder than it used to.
But in my 50’s, I started realizing I didn’t just want to “age well.”
I want to keep fully living well.
I want to hike mountains.
Carry my own suitcase. (well sometimes!)
Run trails.
Travel. (A lot!)
Play.
Move freely.
Continue doing the things that bring me joy and the everyday things that simply need to get done like errands, cleaning the house, and walking the pup.
Really just feeling strong in my body for as long as possible.
That’s what mobility health means to me.
Not perfection.
Not anti-aging.
Not becoming a professional athlete.
Just supporting our bones, muscles, joints, hydration, recovery, and long-term strength now…so we can keep saying YES to life later. 🤍
