Your annual physical is more than a check-up, it’s an opportunity to stay ahead of your health, catch potential concerns early, review your medications, and talk about any changes you’ve noticed.

On International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember those whose lives have been lost to overdose, honour the families and communities who continue to grieve, and stand in solidarity with everyone affected by substance use.

By learning the signs of an overdose, increasing access to life-saving tools such as naloxone, supporting harm reduction initiatives and challenging stigma, we can help save lives and connect people to the care and supports they need.

Everyone deserves compassion, dignity and access to culturally safe, trauma-informed care and support.

Mindful Monday 🧠✨

Did you know we can have approximately 60,000–70,000 thoughts a day?

We may not be able to control every thought that pops into our mind, but we can become more conscious of the thoughts we choose to focus on.

Pause. Notice. Question. Choose. 🌿

Not every thought deserves your attention. 💗

Need support with your mental wellness? We’re here for you.

Why Do I Crave Sugar? 🍫

Sugar cravings are not “lack of willpower.”

Your brain learns patterns through reward, dopamine, cues, and repetition. When you eat something sweet, your brain gets a reward signal. Over time, certain situations, stress, boredom, fatigue, a specific time of day, or even seeing a favourite treat, can become cues that trigger the craving.

Then the pattern repeats:
Cue → Craving → Reward → Repeat 🔄

The good news? Patterns can be changed. Understanding why you crave sugar is the first step toward creating a healthier relationship with food.

✨ Your cravings aren’t a character flaw. They’re a learned brain-body pattern,and learned patterns can be changed.
