SEPTEMBER = BACK TO ROUTINE. šŸ”„

And after the last six weeks of sweating, lifting, pushing and getting stronger together… it’s time to switch things up.

The whiteboards are blank.

The markers are ready.

And Morning Edit is getting an entirely new lineup for September.šŸ‘€

The format you know and love is staying:

šŸ‹ļø **1 minute weights**
šŸ”„ **1 minute cardio**
šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø **1 minute rest**

Repeated for 50 minutes.

But the movements?

ALL NEW.

New strength combinations.
New cardio.
New challenges.
New ways to push yourself.

And maybe the part I’m most excited about…

Starting in September, I’ll be coaching 6AM FIVE DAYS A WEEK. Monday through Friday.

I genuinely don’t take that opportunity lightly.

Watching these early morning classes grow, consistently fill and become this incredible little community has been one of the most rewarding parts of coaching at The Edit HQ | Napanee, ON

So to be trusted with five mornings a week feels pretty damn special. ā¤ļø

September always feels like a reset.

Summer winds down.
Schedules come back.
Kids go back to school.
And we start finding our rhythm again.

So if getting back into a routine that includes doing something for YOU is on your September list…

I hope you’ll spend some of those mornings with me.

The boards may be blank right now…

but I promise you, I’ve got plans. šŸ˜ˆšŸ”„

Let’s go. šŸ’Ŗ

This is what fitness looks like to me now. ā¤ļø

A photo of me piggybacking my 12-year-old at a CrossFit competition earlier this month.

And when I look at it, I don’t pick apart my body.

I don’t think about what I weigh.

I don’t compare myself to the version of me who was leaner, smaller or more jacked.

I just feel fu***ng proud.

Proud that at 43 years old, I can throw my growing kid on my back and carry him.

Proud that I can run.
Lift heavy s**t.
Jump.
Sprint.
Sweat.
Push myself.
Recover.
And come back again.

Proud that after all the different seasons my body has carried me through, I am still asking it to do hard things.

But maybe what makes me proudest is knowing that my boys are watching.

They’re watching their mom prioritize movement.

They’re watching me choose hard things on purpose.

They’re watching me challenge myself, struggle, sometimes fail, laugh about it, and try again.

They’re learning that exercise isn’t punishment for what you ate.

That fitness isn’t about making your body smaller.

That getting older doesn’t mean you stop doing hard things.

And that being strong is something worth celebrating.

I spent a lot of years chasing what I wanted my body to look like.

These days, I’m becoming increasingly proud of what my body can DO!

And if my boys grow up remembering their mom as the woman who was always willing to throw them on her back, race them, lift with them, run beside them and show them that taking care of your body is a privilege...

I’ll take that legacy every damn time.

Strong enough to carry them now.

Hopefully setting an example they’ll carry with them forever. ā¤ļø

Thank you CrossFit Belleville for an incredible experience

MONDAY–FRIDAY. 6AM. WE’RE DOING THIS. šŸ”„

I am SO freaking excited to officially be offering 6AM classes FIVE DAYS A WEEK starting in September!

What started as a few early mornings has consistently turned into full classes, waitlists and women choosing to get up before the rest of the world to do something for themselves.

So… we’re expanding. šŸ™Œ

And with the expansion comes all-new programming, created with intention behind every single workout.

šŸ’Ŗ Designed for ALL fitness levels
šŸ”„ Everything can be scaled down OR levelled up
šŸ‹ļø Strength, conditioning, cardio & core
🧠 Programming that challenges you without destroying you
ā¤ļø And the same incredible 6AM community that has made these mornings so damn special

You do NOT have to be the fittest person in the room.

You don’t have to lift the heaviest.

You don’t have to keep up with anyone else.

You show up.
We meet you where you’re at.
And then we get stronger together.

There is seriously no better feeling than walking out the door before most people have had their first coffee knowing you’ve already done something hard for yourself.

September mornings are about to hit different. šŸ”„

Monday–Friday | 6AM

Set the alarm.

I’ll bring the energy.

See you before the world wakes. šŸ’Ŗā¤ļø

Yesterday, I shared a story that broke my heart.

I watched three teenage girls torment a vulnerable woman for their own entertainment, and I came home thinking a lot about empathy.
About kindness.
About the kind of humans we are raising.

And then tonight, life gave me the most beautiful little reminder that there is still so much good in this world too.

Kieran has had a friend staying with us for almost three days.

They’ve played soccer.
Stayed up way too late.
Watched movies.
Played mini sticks.
Golfed.
Played board games.
Went fishing.
Hit the beach.

Basically packed three days with all the things childhood summers are supposed to be made of.

On the way to soccer tonight, Kieran asked his friend:

ā€œWhat was your favourite part about staying at my house?ā€

His friend started listing things and then laughed that obviously he couldn’t pick the beach or fishing because technically those weren’t at our house. šŸ˜‚

And then he said:

ā€œHonestly, I just really liked spending time with you.ā€

Gah. 😭

Even typing that makes my heart feel like it might explode.

Because yesterday I witnessed cruelty that made me wonder what the hell is happening to people.

And today?

I witnessed two little boys who didn’t need anything spectacular to make three days special.

No phones.

No likes.

No audience.

No trying to impress anyone.

Just friendship.

ā€œI just really liked spending time with you.ā€

There is so much darkness in this world, and sometimes it is loud enough that we forget to look for the light.

But the light is here too.

Sometimes it’s incredibly quiet.

Sometimes it’s sitting right behind you in the car on the way to a completely ordinary Wednesday night soccer practice.

And sometimes, if you’re lucky enough to notice it, it reminds you:

There are still really fu***ng good humans growing up in this world. ā¤ļø

Today, my boys and I witnessed something that honestly broke my heart.

We were fishing at the waterfront when we heard a woman yelling from across the Napanee River. She’s someone I’ve seen downtown many times and I believe may be experiencing homelessness.

At first, I assumed she was struggling and didn’t pay much attention.

Until I saw teenage girls running away.

Then I realized what was actually happening.

Three teenage girls were taunting this woman.

Yelling horrible things at her. Making fun of her. Recording her. Threatening to post her on TikTok while she repeatedly begged them to leave her alone.

For about five minutes, they continued provoking her while she became increasingly distressed and agitated.

It got to the point where I called the police. The yelling was so loud that the call taker could hear it from across the river.

And my heart fu***ng broke for this woman.

Because imagine already struggling with homelessness, mental illness, addiction, trauma, poverty or circumstances we know absolutely nothing about and then becoming someone else’s entertainment.

So why am I sharing this?

Because maybe it’s time for another conversation with our kids.

Being a ā€œmean girlā€ isn’t cute.
It isn’t funny.
And humiliating a vulnerable human being for TikTok content is fu***ng disgusting.

Kieran asked me afterward:

ā€œWhat would you do if I acted like that?ā€

I told him the truth.

ā€œI would be ashamed that you were my kid, dude.ā€

I don’t care how popular my kids are. How good they are at sports. What grades they get or what they accomplish.

If they grow up believing someone else’s suffering is something to laugh at, film or exploit for attention, I’ve failed somewhere along the way.

Teach your kids empathy.

Teach them that mental illness isn’t content.

That homelessness doesn’t make someone less human.

That another person’s lowest moment isn’t entertainment.

And that being kind will ALWAYS be cooler than being cruel.

Never make yourself feel bigger by making someone vulnerable feel smaller.

Last night I slept in our trailer for the first and only time since we bought it.

And I had the strangest dream.

In the dream, I was trying desperately to scream.

I knew I was screaming. I was trying with everything in me to make noise… but it felt like nothing was coming out.

Except in real life?

I WAS screaming.

Out loud. In my sleep.

And somehow, in that strange space between sleeping and waking, I also knew I was asleep.

When I woke up, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Because if there was ever a metaphor for the last few weeks of my life…

That was it.

Something that was supposed to bring our family freedom, adventure and memories has turned into something we’ve had to fight over.

I’ve felt angry.

Powerless.

Misled.

And more than anything, I’ve felt like I’ve been screaming for someone to hear me.

To acknowledge that this isn’t okay.

To take responsibility.

To understand that this wasn’t just a purchase to us.

It was something we worked for. Something we dreamed about. Something that was supposed to hold memories with our boys.

And there I was, on the first night I ever slept inside it…

Dreaming that I was screaming but couldn’t make a sound.

But here’s the part I can’t stop thinking about:

I actually WAS making noise.

My dream was telling me I had no voice while, in reality, my voice was loud enough to wake people up.

F**k.

Maybe there’s something in that.

How many times in life do we convince ourselves that nobody hears us?

That our voice isn’t powerful enough.

That we’re fighting a battle we can’t win.

That we should probably just shut up, accept what happened and move on.

Maybe sometimes we don’t realize how loud we’ve become because we’re still remembering all the times we weren’t heard.

I don’t know if dreams have meaning.

Maybe my nervous system was simply processing stress in a strange place.

But I know what I’m taking from this one:

Even when it feels like my voice isn’t coming out… it is.

And maybe the lesson isn’t to scream louder.

Maybe it’s to finally trust that my voice already carries.

And I’m not going to stop using it. ā¤ļø

UNSTOPPABLE 2.0 IS COMING THIS SEPTEMBER. šŸ”„

And instead of me telling you why you should join… I’ll let the women currently doing it tell you.

The Coles Notes version of what they had to say:

šŸ’Ŗ ā€œI’ve realized I’m so much stronger than I ever thought I was.ā€

🧠 ā€œIt feels like I’m working on both my physical AND mental strength at the same time.ā€

šŸ”„ ā€œI’m exhausted, extremely sweaty, but somehow leave feeling energized and accomplished.ā€

šŸ˜‚ ā€œIt’s like Power Fit in high school… but for grown ass women.ā€

ā¤ļø ā€œAshley pushes us when we need it, while reminding us to listen to our bodies.ā€

šŸ““ ā€œI love that it isn’t just about the physical side. We reflect, practice mindfulness and actually check in with ourselves.ā€

🄹 ā€œIt’s become one of my favourite parts of my week.ā€

And maybe my favourite…

ā€œFour classes in and I’m already sad we only have two left.ā€

THIS is exactly what I wanted UNSTOPPABLE to be.

Yes, we lift heavy s**t.

Yes, we sweat our asses off.

Yes, I’m going to challenge you.

But this program was never just about getting stronger physically.

It’s about rebuilding trust in your body.

Learning what you’re capable of.

Showing up exactly as you are that day.

Pushing when you have more to give and learning to honour yourself when you don’t.

We train.

We sweat.

We reflect.

We laugh.

We do hard s**t together.

And somewhere along the way, you start realizing…

Holy s**t. I AM strong.

UNSTOPPABLE 2.0 launches this September and if you’ve been saying ā€œI really need to start working out againā€ or ā€œI wouldn’t even know where to startā€ā€¦..

This is your sign.

Come be a grown ass woman doing hard s**t with us. šŸ”„šŸ’Ŗ

It’s wild how quickly your mindset can change.

At 4.5km into my 5km run this morning, I was DONE. šŸ˜‚

Whining in my head.
Legs tired.
Watching the distance.
Just waiting for that damn run to be over.

And then I ran past an older man walking with a cane.

He looked me right in the eyes and said,

ā€œMan, I wish I could still do that.ā€

And just like that… everything shifted.

The same legs I was complaining about suddenly felt like a gift.

The run I wanted to be over became something I was grateful I could do.

Because running is hard. Moving our bodies is hard. Getting up early and choosing to do uncomfortable things is hard.

But being able to do them is a privilege.

One day, I may desperately miss the body I occasionally complain about today.

So I finished that last 500m differently.

Not because it suddenly felt easier.

But because I remembered how damn lucky I am that my body still lets me do hard things.

Sometimes gratitude doesn’t come from changing your circumstances.

Sometimes it comes from seeing the exact same moment through someone else’s eyes. ā¤ļø

Today was one of those really bittersweet days. ā¤ļø

After three years of working together, I said ā€œsee you soonā€ to a client over the phone today.

She proudly told me she was ready to spread her wings and fly.

And the beautiful thing is… I 100% agree.

For three years, I’ve had the privilege of walking beside her as she unlearned so much of what her childhood taught her.

We challenged limiting beliefs, navigated toxic relationships, healed old wounds, learned boundaries and, maybe most importantly, she learned to love and accept ALL the parts of herself.

Her and I tackled some really hard s**t together.

And today, through the phone, I could hear it in her voice:

ā€œI think I’ve got this now.ā€

Isn’t that the whole point? 🄹

As much as I’m pouring myself into The Edit HQ, today reminded me that I don’t think I’ll ever completely stop being a trauma-informed health and life coach.

There is something priceless about that one-on-one connection. Being trusted with someone’s story and getting a front-row seat to their healing and growth is something I will never take for granted.

I never wanted her to need me forever.

I wanted her to realize that everything she was searching for was something I was helping her find within herself.

So yeah… my heart is a little sad today.

But it is so much more proud.

Spread those wings, beautiful girl.

You’re ready to fly.ā¤ļø

Today started beautifully. Games with Kieran in the trailer. A 10km bike ride together.

Then we came home and realized our trailer may be even more fu**ed than we initially thought. šŸ™ƒ Long story I’ll share once I know whether the trailer place is going to make it right or screw us.

Needless to say, we are STRESSED AF up in here.

I wanted to crack a vodka soda and drown my misery.

Instead, I started organizing camping stuff.

Then Jayden looked at me and said:

ā€œMama, what would make you happy? That’s what we have to do.ā€

😭

So I thought about it.

I was supposed to run 10km. I love running by the water. So I asked if he wanted to come with me.

We drove to Kingston and ran 7km together.

And somewhere along the way, the heaviness loosened a little.

Because what a fu***ng privilege it is to have a body healthy enough to run beside my boy.

To have kids who notice when their mama isn’t herself and want to help her find her way back.

We finished with Mio Gelato and sat by the water together.

And no, I don’t magically feel 100%.

The trailer is still fu**ed. I’m still stressed. Tomorrow we still have s**t to figure out.

But I feel better

Maybe we don’t always need to turn the whole day around.

Maybe sometimes we just need to ask:

ā€œWhat would make me happy right now?ā€

And go find one little piece of it. ā¤ļø
