We simply cannot keep this cuteness to ourselves! This little lady, appropriately named “Secret”, was delivered via c-section after it was believed that her mama’s pregnancy didn’t take. Just a few minutes old, and serenading us all with her song. 💙

What breed do you think Secret is? 👀

After secretly polishing off half a bag of trail mix, C***r & Martini promptly paid us a visit to induce vomiting, and treat their toxin ingestion (raisins).

Grapes and raisin are toxic to dogs. Unlike many other substances, there is no safe dose, because individual susceptibility to poisoning varies widely between individuals. No matter the amount, ingestion of grapes or raisins is always cause for concern. Poisoning can result in acute kidney failure, and unfortunately, by the time the patient becomes symptomatic, the damage is already done.

Luckily, quick action yielded positive results for C***r & Martini, and they were sent home safe & sound.

Lean machines Pippa and Max, the greyhounds, and DJ, the cornish rex, recently paid Dr Holzman a visit. 💙 We love a family affair in our exam rooms, especially when all the pets match. 😂

We know that your pet is not "just a pet" or "just a number", which is why they'll never be treated like one. 💙 Giving our patients the care that they deserve is one of the most rewarding aspects of our work. 🐾

WHODUNNIT: VET MED EDITION 🩺

Dante, Enzo, and Buddy paid a surprise visit to our Urgent Care team this past weekend after *someone* ate a corn cob.🌽 Dr Sun, Sarah, and Katie put on their sleuthing hats to determine who the culprit was. Can you tell who was responsible? 👀

The sorts of shenanigans that find our pets in need of prompt care rarely fit into a convenient, pre-booked daytime appointment slot. Our Urgent Care department is here to alleviate Ottawa’s emergency hospitals by treating stable, time-sensitive medical conditions that require same-day attention, but are not currently life-threatening. The department operates every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 2:00pm-12:00am (midnight). We are here to help our community navigate these uncertain situations with expertise and compassion. 💙
