Yesterday, we said goodbye to Dolly Parton🤠, a woman who brought joy, music, and kindness to the world. She had a way of making people feel seen and loved, and her words often reminded us to be gentle with each other.

A smile is simple, but it can change someone’s whole day. It can make a person feel welcome, supported, or a little less alone. Dolly believed in sharing kindness in the easiest way possible — with a smile — and that message feels even more important as we remember her.

Being a small business owner is kind of like having a parade in your head that never stops.🙃 Even when the lights are off and the day is done, the band keeps playing.
🎺The trumpets start up… Then the pictures roll in — clients, teeth, tools, appointments, ideas, new services, community events — all marching by like floats in a busy parade.
Your mind doesn’t shut down because you care. You’re always thinking about how to make things better, how to help people, and how to keep your little business growing.📈

I truly feel so lucky to wake up every day and do what I love! 💗 Being an Independent Dental Hygienist at Wilmot Smiles gives me the opportunity to focus on what matters most to me — YOU and your oral health! 🦷✨

But what does seeing an Independent Dental Hygienist actually mean?

It means you can receive your dental hygiene care directly from a Registered Dental Hygienist, without needing to see a dentist. As an RDH, I can assess your oral health, provide professional cleaning and preventive care, answer your questions, and help you understand what your mouth needs to stay healthy.

One of my favourite parts of independent practice is having the time to really listen, educate and personalize your care. Every smile is different, and your dental hygiene appointment should be about more than just “getting your teeth cleaned!” 😁

First day back in the clinic after holidays, and I’m feeling totally renewed, refreshed, and still buzzing from our adventure.😎
I just finished four awesome days riding my e‑bike on the Le P’tit Train du Nord trail in Quebec with my husband Rick, and it honestly felt like the kind of trip you talk about for years. The trail is about 234 km long, and every part had something cool — forests that felt endless, tiny towns with so much charm, and long stretches where it was just us, our bikes, and the open air. We stayed in B&Bs along the way, which made each night super cozy and gave us some couple time! 🚲🚲
We had two full days of rain, but our $50 Amazon rain suits turned us into total pros.🌧️ They kept us dry, warm, and laughing at how “official” we looked. I also learned a big lesson: never wear flip‑flops in the rain. My feet got a chilly wake‑up call, and I won’t be doing that again.🩴
After finishing the trail, we headed to Ottawa to visit my daughter Deanna, and it was the perfect ending — adventure, fresh air, family time, and so many good memories. My heart is full.❤️
If you ever get the chance to try something different, just go for it — you never know how much joy it might bring you!!
