Your CPAP mask might look fine on the outside, but the cushion tells a different story.
Over time, the silicone or foam breaks down from skin oils, cleaning products, and nightly wear. When that happens, the seal weakens, and so does your therapy.
Signs it's time to replace your cushion:
- You're waking up with red marks or pressure sores.
- Your mask is leaking more than usual.
- The cushion feels stiff, sticky, or has lost its shape.
- You're cleaning it regularly but it still smells.
As a general guide, most cushions should be replaced every 2-4 weeks for optimal performance.
