Making the move to a toddler bed? 🛏️✨

Before giving your little one the freedom to get in and out of bed, take a few minutes to make their entire room as safe as possible.

Here are a few things to check:
✔️ Add an extra bed rail if needed to prevent falls
✔️ Cover all accessible power outlets
✔️ Secure or remove any cords and wires within reach
✔️ Anchor dressers, bookshelves and other furniture to the wall
✔️ Keep blind/curtain cords completely out of reach
✔️ Make sure windows are locked and secured
✔️ Remove anything small or unsafe that your toddler could pull down or put in their mouth
✔️ Consider a childproof door handle/lock so your toddler can’t wander around the house unsupervised overnight
✔️ Keep medications, toiletries and other hazardous items completely out of reach
And remember: once they’re in a toddler bed, think beyond the crib. Your child now has access to the whole room — and potentially the rest of the house!

The goal isn’t to make the room boring… it’s to create a safe space where your toddler can explore their new independence. 🤍

Thinking about moving your toddler out of the crib? 🛏️

Before you make the switch, remember: turning a certain age doesn't automatically mean your toddler is ready for a big-kid bed.

If they're sleeping well, aren't climbing out, and the crib is still safe, there's often no need to rush the transition.

The goal isn't to move them out as soon as possible — it's to make the transition when your toddler is ready and it makes sense for your family. 💕

Sleep training is a lot like riding a bike—you don't forget the skill.

A vacation, a few nights of co-sleeping, or a change in routine doesn't erase all the hard work you've put in. Once you're home, simply get back to the habits that helped your little one sleep independently.

Just like riding a bike:
🚲 You get back on one pedal at a time (one night at a time).
🚲 You make sure you have the right setup (a consistent bedtime routine and sleep environment).
🚲 The first ride back might feel a little wobbly (expect some protest), but it doesn't take long before it all clicks again.

Consistency is what brings those sleep skills back—not perfection.

So if you co-slept on vacation, don't panic. Enjoy the memories, then confidently return to your routine. Your child hasn't forgotten how to sleep independently—they just need a gentle reminder. 💕

Bedtime doesn’t have to be a power struggle.

My #1 tip? Give your toddler choices.

When toddlers feel some control, they’re often much more willing to cooperate.

Instead of: “Put on your pajamas.”
Try: “Do you want the blue pajamas or the red ones?”

You hold the boundary. They get the choice.
That simple shift can change bedtime. 🩷
