🌟 Patient Spotlight: Donna’s TKR Recovery Journey 🌟

At 10 weeks post–total knee replacement, Donna was doing everything right… but still felt stuck.

👉 Limited knee flexion
👉 Persistent quad inhibition
👉 Frustration with slow progress

She had already tried multiple approaches to improve her bend — stretching, mobility work, and strengthening — but her quad just wasn’t firing the way it needed to.

💡 That’s when we introduced Phoenix Waveform Neurotherapy.

⚡ The shift:

By targeting the nervous system and improving quad activation, we were able to:

✅ Reconnect the brain to the muscle

✅ Improve quad recruitment

✅ Support better knee flexion

✅ Build confidence in movement again

🏋️‍♀️ Combined with focused rehab exercises, after Donna’s 1st session she is:

➡️ Moving with less discomfort and restriction

➡️ Seeing improvements in knee flexion already

➡️ Feeling stronger and more in control

Every recovery journey is different — sometimes you just need the right tool at the right time.

🚀 If you’re feeling stuck after surgery, there are always options.

❄️ Winter weather is here… get cosy at the clinic! ❄️

As the snow and slush make their way into Niagara, we’re keeping our clinic a warm, welcoming, and dry space for everyone who visits.

To help us do that, we kindly ask you to bring indoor slippers or shoes for your appointment.

If you forget yours, no worries — we’re always happy to lend you a clean pair of our clinic slippers.

Thank you for helping us keep our care spaces comfortable, safe, and cosy all season long.

Stay warm, and we’ll see you soon!

Headaches that start at the base of your skull and travel to your forehead?

This pattern often comes from tension in your suboccipital muscles—the small but powerful group at the back of your head that work overtime with screen time, stress, and forward-head posture.

Try these simple tools at home:

Tennis Ball Release
Lay on your back with a tennis ball under the suboccipitals. Gently let your head sink into it for 30–60 seconds to melt away tension.

Gentle Chin Tucks
Practice slow, gentle chin tucks to lengthen the back of the neck and reduce strain from forward-head posture.

Warm Compress
Place a warm compress at the base of your skull to relax the muscles and improve blood flow.

If this type of headache keeps returning, RMT treatment can help by addressing the muscle tension, joint mechanics, and referral patterns causing it.

Graston

Maybe you’ve heard it referred to as IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization) or “blades”.

These instruments can be integrated into massage to assist the therapist as well as the client.

They’re not as scary as they look!

The use of these instruments can help stimulate your fascia, sending feedback to your nervous system to help restore proper function, coordination and circulation.

✅Break down scar tissue
✅Increase range of motion
✅Increases circulation and lymph flow
✅Aids in recovery from injury or daily strain
