Welcome to June - The Art of Slow Down
Every year as June arrives, I notice a recurring pattern: life seems to speed up and vanish in a blur. I often reach the end of it realizing I was so busy 'doing' that I forgot to cherish the fun moments along the way. In truth, I cannot remember a single June where I wasn't buried under a mountain of tasks, feeling more like I was drowning than living. Yet, June is meant to be a month of free-flowing energy! A time defined by the lightness of air and the joy of spontaneous fun. Determined to break this cycle, I decided to take a different approach this year: I began planning for June back in early May.
Here is your invitation to embrace the element of Air, letting go of heaviness to make room for play and exploration. A friend of mine did a Yoga Class that set an intention for a Summertime Bucket List. It could be as simple as laying in a hammock in your backyard or sitting on your porch greeting friends. My favorite thing to do in late Spring and Summer is to go outside first thing in the morning and have my coffee, whether I am outside facing the pine trees and Oak Tree in my backyard or sitting watching the sunrise over Lake Ontario.
Lately, I’ve noticed a pattern among my clients: so many are arriving at my door feeling fragmented, scattered, and disconnected from their core truth. They are carrying a heaviness that stems from being pulled in too many directions, struggling to find the permission to simply let go.
To empower your life, you need to be willing to simplify. Simplifying is about setting the intention that you want to manifest in your life and daily routine. It is the practice of mindfulness and be able to connect to the 5 senses. By slowing down you will be able to take in every moment, by smelling the flowers, by enjoying your food, by listen to rejuvenating music, feeling all the sense of confidence and seeing the beauty in the world. Focus of what you want!
Even after a stressful day you will be able intentionally change the stress into a calm existence. Focus on your feet to ground yourself to earth for stability. Take a deep breath that reaches your belly. Ask yourself: Is this task a priority for me.
Even after a stressful day, you have the power to intentionally change the stress into a calm existence. When you feel the pressure mounting, focus on your feet to ground yourself to earth for stability. Take a deep breath that reaches your belly. Allow this breath to expand your center, creating space where there was once heaviness.
We often create our own stress by taking on more than we can handle. When you feel that familiar overwhelm, pause and ask: 'Is this truly my priority, or am I fulfilling someone else’s expectation?
In a world of constant noise, meditation is your anchor. It is the space where you transition from the "two worlds" of professional structure and spiritual mission into a unified state of clarity. You do not need an hour to find this; you need only the consistency of the moment. Even five minutes of intentional stillness can transform a "low vibration" day into one of grounded purpose.
Paradoxically, your "Limitless Potential" is found not by filling your life with more, but by clearing the space for your truth to emerge. When you simplify, you aren’t losing anything—you are simply removing the fog so you can finally see what has been there all along.
This June, I invite you to join me in the practice of "Less":
• One less task that drains your energy.
• One intentional pause to breathe before you respond.
• One moment of meditation where you simply exist, without the need to achieve.
Remember, you are not defined by the length of your to-do list; you are defined by the depth of your presence. It is time to stop running and stop adding. Let’s start slowing down to consciously connect with every you do.
Blessings
Laura
