🌺 In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Spring is connected to the Liver system, the season of movement, growth, change, and emotion. When that energy gets “stuck” from stress, overwhelm, rushing, emotional tension, or not enough rest, the body often lets us know.
This shift from Winter into Spring has felt especially intense this year. In TCM, Winter is linked to the Kidney system a slower, restorative season where energy moves inward. Spring is the opposite. Energy starts rising, moving, and expanding again.
But after such a long Winter, that transition hasn’t felt very smooth for many people.
But when Winter lingers too long..cold, snow, tension, heaviness, that movement can get “stuck.”
Last Friday it was literally snowing… on May 15th!!!
From a TCM perspective, prolonged Cold can cause the body to contract and tighten. Then suddenly the weather shifts, the Yang energy rises, life speeds up again, and the body struggles to transition smoothly. That’s when we often start seeing:
* tight necks and shoulders
* tension headaches
* jaw clenching
* very tight foreheads
* irritability and emotional tension
* feeling wound up but exhausted at the same time
That extra tension and stress? No doubt!!!
Many people don’t even realize how much stress they’re physically carrying until they finally relax on the table.
This is your reminder to slow down a little.
Take a breath.
Stretch.
Go outside.
Book the treatment.
You deserve to feel relaxed in your body again.
