Some of you have been waiting for this, and here it is… I now offer electroacupuncture (EA)! 🎉

Electroacupuncture uses a gentle, controlled electrical current between acupuncture needles to provide consistent stimulation to specific points, muscles and nerves. This gives me another tool to help treat stubborn and chronic pain, muscle tension, spasms and certain nerve-related concerns and may help provide stronger, longer-lasting relief.

Waiting to make this investment was never about the dollar amount. It was about making sure my skill level and confidence in the roots of the Traditional Chinese Medicine system I was taught, continue to study, were strong enough first.

I needed to trust my assessment and point selection before adding any fancy “magic” gadgets. The machine doesn’t choose the treatment; it simply enhances a carefully selected treatment.

** Electroacupuncture is not appropriate for every person or every condition, and it will never be used during a first appointment. It will only be considered after a thoughtful discussion between us and when we both feel it is an appropriate addition to your treatment plan.

Some people have had uncomfortable experiences with electroacupuncture in the past. Your comfort and consent will always come first. The intensity is carefully controlled, you remain in control throughout the treatment, and it can be adjusted or stopped at any time. You will never be pressured into receiving it and manual acupuncture will always remain an option.

So, for those of you who have been waiting… it’s officially here! 💚

As your teen heads back to hockey, volleyball, or whatever sport they love… encourage them to make recovery part of their routine. Talk with them about the importance of rest, body awareness, and caring for the muscles and joints they rely on every day.

Egg drop soup! 🍲

Chicken broth
A splash of soy sauce
Bring it to a boil
Slowly pour in scrambled raw eggs while stirring

DONE. Warm, nourishing and ridiculously easy. 🙌

A student of Traditional Chinese Medicine never really quits learning. Once that fire is ignited, I don’t think it ever goes out.

I took a year off after graduation, but I am officially 100% ready to get hurt again 😂

My little girl (5) was CRYING yesterday from heartburn. I didn’t even know five-year-olds could get heartburn!

We tried water, ice and milk. Finally, I said it, “Mommy has an acupuncture point for that.”

She wasn’t down for a needle in her wrist 😂, but I taught her how to massage PC6, an acupuncture point traditionally used to settle the stomach, relieve nausea and ease discomfort in the chest and upper abdomen.

And guess what? No more heartburn!

Now my little gal knows what to do: massage between the two tendons, about three of her finger-breadths above the inner wrist crease.

Now for Mom to work on eliminating a few of those triggering food choices… 🤦‍♀️
