New at the Library! ✨📚
We’re thrilled to introduce our new collection of decodable readers, along with the McConnell Library’s build a bag program!
Designed for emerging readers, these specialized children's books provide meaningful, focused practice with phonics patterns. They help children build confidence as they blend, segment, and decode words using their growing letter-sound knowledge. The books incorporate an evidence-based, systematic phonics approach, making them ideal for both foundational instruction and extra support.
In addition to the new decodables, we’re also launching our build a bag program. Here’s how it works: fill a clear tote bag with children’s books of your choice, borrow for three weeks, return, and refill for endless reading fun! Research shows that books have the greatest impact when kids help choose them, particularly alongside their parents or guardians.
