Have you been offered “bile acid binders” for your diarrhea? 💊

IBS-D and bile acid diarrhea are often driven by an overly speedy gut due to problems with the gut–brain connection 🧠➡️🌀, not just bile acids or structural abnormalities alone.

That’s why in my diarrhea-focused program, we start from the “top down” with tools like gut-directed hypnotherapy 🧘‍♀️ to calm rapid motility before committing you to a lifelong prescription.

Want to become one of my many patients in the “Diarrhea Decoders”*club 🔍—people who finally understand the “why”their gut runs so fast and what to do about it?

Picture this...

You’re on vacation in Mexico, and you pick up a tummy bug, and the diarrhea starts.

You go to the Dr. when you get home and your IDP (Infectious Diarrhea Panel) comes back positive for Yersinia, or Campylobacter, or other bug that isn’t supposed to be there.

You get that gut bug treated; but months later you still have diarrhea.

You have another round of stool testing that shows the undesirable gut bug has been eradicated, and an additional stool test suggests pancreatic exocrine insufficiency PEI (meaning not enough pancreatic enzymes are being released into your small bowel to help break down your dietary fats, proteins, and starches).

But is it truly pancreatic exocrine insufficiency?

Or is it that small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is interfering with the stimulation of your pancreas as it pertains to release of your pancreatic enzymes (and antimicrobial bicarbonate, further encouraging SIBO to hang out).

In this video, I go over one of the IBS-D “Clusters” that can come up in my practice.

Do you have a cluster you want me to chat about?

Sometimes the best clues begin with how it all started for you.

If you need help “un-clustering” your diarrhea, apply for a call (link in bio or head to my website) to see if you’re the right fit for my programs.

Which number, 1️⃣ to 6️⃣, are you feeling the most ⬆️

If you’re dealing with urgency, diarrhea, or bloating on the regular, you deserve answers and a solid plan forward (and out of fatiguing diarrhea drama).

In a nutshell, I cover:

1️⃣ Red flags that need a doctor’s attention
2️⃣ Why cutting out “all the foods” might not be the best play
3️⃣ How coffee, alcohol + sugar alcohols can worsen diarrhea
4️⃣ Why the right fibre can actually help IBS-D
5️⃣ The gut-brain axis: stress, sleep, anxiety & your bowels
6️⃣ When it might actually be SIBO, bile acid diarrhea (BAD), IBS-D.
…And PS: It can be all of the above because of how intertwined our nervous system, gut bacteria and our bile acid recycling system is.

You’re not overreacting.

You’re not “too sensitive.”

You just need the right info, proper testing, and a plan that isn’t pure restriction or spaghetti-throwing.

Save this, have a convo with your healthcare provider, and grab your free IBS-D mini guide (link in my bio) 💚

I know you feel me on this ⬆️ but…

😑 What if you woke up with energy, feeling like your body didn’t just go through WWII from yesterday’s fatiguing diarrhea flare up?

🥤What if a smoothie was just a refreshing choice instead of a potential trigger?

🥗 What if your gut didn’t object to every raw vegetable or salad you try to nourish it with?

🫘 What if you could tolerate plant-based proteins like, yes, beans?!

☕️ What if you could drink a cup of coffee without an instant dash to the toilet.

💭 What if it you didn’t have the daily mental torment between eating well and having diarrhea, or eating what you don’t want (or nothing at all) just to scrape by through the day unscathed?

Can you relate??

It can be possible to have it all. Yes.

🍲 You don’t have to sacrifice your variety for the sake of your gut.

🥱 You don’t have to scrape by each day with crippling, fatiguing, diarrhea flare-ups.

🧠 You can train your gut and brain to tolerate a wider range of foods.

👱‍♀️ This is exactly what I help my patients do.

🏝️ Just live the fullest lives possible with the small amount of precious time they/we have on this Earth.

📱 Book a call and let’s talk about it.

🧠 FACT:

Addressing the central drivers of:

1- Motility (gut speed)

2- Sensitivity (how much abdominal pain and discomfort you feel), and

3- Symptom perception (how in control or hyper-vigilant you feel about every gurgle in your tummy)

are now recognized as key to managing disorders of the gut brain interaction (like IBS-Diarrhea).

I help health conscious individuals get lasting relief from daily, painful, bloaty IBS Diarrhea flare-ups by first calming the gut-brain connection, then soluble fibre therapy, and THEN (if it’s even needed) customizing the diet so that they can eat their beloved foods like garlic, beans and salads again.

Comment “yes” or book a free call and let’s chat about it.

I’m making lighthearted something that is quite important to get clear on if you’ve tried everything for your IBS, SIBO, IMO and you’re still bloated, fatigued, and your vitamin D is found to be low, amongst other possible signs and symptoms.

Pancreatic Exocrine Insufficiency (PEI) is when your pancreas, for some reason or another, is failing to chuck out the typical est 900,000 lipase units (enzymes that break down and help us digest our dietary fats) per meal.

It’s also responsible for making enzymes to break down proteins and carbs- but it’s the fat malabsorption piece that typically makes you feel like p**p on a platter the most.

Those at risk for PEI include patients with Celiac Disease, elderly populations, and those with other autoimmune conditions and more.

Oh, and if you think all peeps with PEI have chronic diarrhea, think again.

Just this week I’ve had clients with IBS-C and IBS-M come back with test results indicating PEI.

The common denominator seems to be gas, bloating, fatigue and less than ideal serum vitamin D- but each patient is different.

Because those with PEI also might not shoot sufficient bicarb into the small intestine (which is antimicrobial) these patients are also at higher risk for SIBO that juuuust doesn’t go awayyyyyy.

Thanks to one of my GI supervisors for that last tidbit

So, if you feel like you could get down with some more info on testing in the context of ongoing digestive issues (like IBS-D) sign up for Thursday’s webinar.

🙅🏼‍♀️It’s NOT ok to be diagnosed with IBS (of any subtype) without being screened for Celiac Disease first.

What’s more, is most patients aren’t told that if gluten is cut out prior to this test, it ain’t a reliable screening tool for Celiac Disease.

How much gluten, for how long, and what other tests should be done FIRST before an IBS diagnosis?

I cover it all in my upcoming free webinar on Thursday Nov 6 at the 12pm PST.

🔬IBS-D: Were you properly tested first?🧪

FREE webinar Thursday Nov 6, 12pm PST

👆 Link in my bio, OR comment “YES” below and I’ll drop the link directly into your DMs 👇🏼

😔 Do you feel like you walked into the Dr.’s office, explained your symptoms, and were just told you have IBS Diarrhea (with little or no testing)?

💡 Do you want clarity on what’s standard to be tested for prior to an IBS-D diagnosis?

🤔Are you worried you don’t have enough knowledge on testing in the context of diarrhea in order to advocate for yourself to your healthcare providers?

☑️ Do you want a checklist that can help you understand what other tests you could consider if your “IBS-D” doesn’t respond to standard treatments like diet?

💚 I’m offering a value packed webinar next week, because I’ve been there…

A patient with diarrhea, and “all the tests came back negative”… but there were some big ones missing and/or incomplete, I now know.

So I fell through the cracks left searching for answers on my own.

🙃 Listen, IBS-D is the top diagnosis amongst all subtypes of IBS that gets overturned in my practice (especially in older individuals assigned female at birth).

💻 So go sign up, grab your lab reports so you can follow along, and let’s see if you were likely properly tested.

📬 Share this with any loved one that you know still struggles with diarrhea.

See you there.
