What do we want?

Spencer Hawkswell, our CEO, lays it out:

We want medical psilocybin regulated, putting medical decisions where they belong, between patients and their doctors.

We want an alternative to MAiD for people at end of life.

TheraPsil’s focus is medical psychedelics for patients who need therapeutic support from doctors and therapists. Broader legalization is a separate conversation. Terminally ill Canadians cannot wait for that debate. They need access now, through a regulated medical framework, with proper care.

We started TheraPsil 7 years ago to change the laws and make access to psilocybin therapy simpler and more compassionate.

Here’s what’s happening now: patients apply, wait months, get denied. Some are then approved for MAiD after being refused psilocybin, even when they reapply.

It is unacceptable that Canadians have the right to die but are denied the chance to try psilocybin therapy first.

Health Minister Marjorie Michel has the authority to act.
