The Sacred Tug-of-War Between Who I Was and Who I Am

As we settle back into life after the holidays, many people are rushing into resolutions, fresh starts, and “new year, new me” energy… but for me, it feels very different. With the Snake year entering its final phase before the Fire Horse rises in February, I find myself pulled inward instead of forward. There is deep reflection happening, and with it an honest internal tug-of-war between who I once needed to be and who I am now.

There are parts of me that have served their purpose beautifully. The healer, the protector, the over-giver, the people-pleaser, the one who did it all and held everything together. Those versions taught me so much about who I was and how I defined myself.
I honour them deeply, and yet I can feel those patterns holding on tightly, while my heart, my intuition, and my body are standing firm and whispering… “It’s time.” Time to stop dimming myself. Time to stop searching outside of myself. Time to stop hiding behind roles, expectations, and beliefs that kept me contained for far too long.

This feels like standing face to face with both the old version of me vs who I am now, and so I am meeting them not with blame, judgment, or resistance, but with compassion. and love.

I choose to sit in the depth of this transformation instead of rushing through it. I’m allowing myself to feel it, honour it, and bless and release what no longer serves. And in this space, I feel a silent power emerging, a deeper knowing as I surrender and trust my soul self to guide me into the best version of me.A version that leads from the heart, authenticity, and stands unapologetically in truth allowing what has always existed beneath the layers to finally breathe.

May this message find the hearts that need it, offering reassurance, presence, and a gentle reminder that you're not alone and your journey matters.

And so it is.

✨ All Souls Day Reflections ✨

Yesterday was All Souls Day, a time when the veil between the physical and spiritual feels a little thinner. A day to pause, remember, and honour the souls who’ve crossed over but still walk beside us in spirit.

I heard a song I’ve listened to so many times before… but this time, it hit different.
It landed in my chest, right in that tender space between ache and love, and it brought me back to my childhood.

Sunday mornings in my pj’s at my vavo's house, curled up on the couch spending time with my granny and aunt Natalia. They loved old movies, the classics like Fred & Ginger, Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis, and always Elvis (lots of Elvis). And for a moment, I was there again… surrounded by warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that didn’t need words or Wi-Fi.

As tears came, I realized it wasn’t sadness, it was remembrance. The kind that fills the heart even through the ache. I have so much gratitude for the love, the memories, and those simple times that shaped who I am today.

All Souls Day reminds me that love is eternal. It just learns to speak in whispers, in signs, and in the spaces between worlds.

If you’ve felt extra emotional, nostalgic, or tender lately… maybe your soul was remembering too.

Light a candle. Say a prayer. Play a song that reminds you of them.
Or simply pause, hand on heart, and whisper, thank you for always loving me, no matter where you are.

So many of us grew up believing our worth lived outside of us—that it had to be earned through what we did, how much we gave, or how well we performed. We were taught to be the “good girl,” to help, to please, to sacrifice, to put everyone and everything else first. Somewhere along the way, exhaustion became the measuring stick we used to prove we mattered. The more we poured out, the more depleted we became, the more we convinced ourselves it meant we were valuable. But the truth is—exhaustion is not evidence of worth. It’s evidence of self-abandonment.

Exhaustion is your body screaming what your soul has always known: you don’t have to break yourself to be enough.Every time you push when you need rest, every time you silence your needs to take on the weight of everyone else’s struggles, problems, and expectations—you’re handing your worth over to an illusion that says you’re only valuable when you’re completely drained and empty.

I had to learn this the hard way: worth is not earned through overextension, sacrifice, or being the container that holds everyone else’s pain. True worth isn’t measured by depletion at all. It’s remembered when you stop outsourcing your value and take ownership of it. Soul-led self-care is that reclamation—it’s you choosing to rest without guilt, to listen without shame, and to stop treating your needs like they’re negotiable. Your worth simply is. And the moment you reclaim that truth, everything shifts—because you stop living like your value depends on what you do, and start living like it flows from who you are.

✨ Reflective Question:

Where have you allowed old beliefs or other people to define your worth—and what would shift if you finally remembered that your value was yours all along?

I know burnout because I’ve lived it. It’s not just about having too much on your plate—it’s what happens when you abandon yourself over and over again. Every time I ignored the whispers of my body, every time I said yes when my soul was screaming no, I was abandoning myself. Burnout isn’t random—it’s the receipt of every moment you silenced your needs and pushed through anyway.

The truth is—burnout runs deeper than “too much work” or “not enough sleep.” It’s what happens when you override your needs, silence your body, and disconnect from your own truth for too long. And I know this intimately—I’ve been there. You feel like a shell of yourself, and no amount of caffeine, rest days, or vacation time touches it. Burnout isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom. It’s your soul throwing up a red flag saying: “I can’t keep living like this.” It’s your soul showing you the cost of leaving yourself last.

The medicine isn’t pushing harder. It’s not more “time off.” It’s time IN—time to reconnect, realign, and remember who you are beneath all the noise. Healing begins when you stop abandoning yourself in the name of being “enough” and start practicing soul-led self-care—pausing, listening, resting without guilt, and finally saying no when your soul says no. The bravest thing you can do is include yourself back on your own to-do list. That’s where the cycle finally breaks.

✨ Reflective Question:
What is your burnout really trying to tell you—and what would shift if you stopped abandoning yourself and came back home to your own needs?

A Soul Whisper Message for you today....

The Soul knows...this isn't the end it's the beginning of your return. You are not broken, you're not lost, you're being called...deeper into yourself.

This in-between space - it's sacred. It's when your soul begins to speak louder than your mind because your truth is too big to be hidden any longer. You are remembering who you truly are.

This moment, this pause..it's not meant to be filled or fixed. It's meant to be felt, honoured, held.

Breathe here, soften into it, let today be your reset, let it be the moment you choose to trust as your soul speaks to you.

You are soul. You are light. You are ready.
