We love seeing our doctors being nominated for their service and pure commitment to healthcare!
Dr. Steven Turner- you got this!

Meet the 2026 Rhapsody Award nominees! 🏆

First up is Dr. Steven Turner of Olds, AB!
..

A physician who created a foundation for modern rural primary care in Olds is being recognized for his efforts.

Dr. Steven Turner established the Wild Rose Medical Centre in the community 32 years ago, which at its height supported 17 family physicians and received the Alberta College of Family Physicians Most Outstanding Family Practice Award in 2018.

He was recently nominated for the 2026 RHPAP Rhapsody Physician Award.

“Very few physicians have had such a durable and measurable impact on rural Alberta as Dr. Steven Turner,” writes Dr. Jaco Hoffman in his nomination for his colleague.

“His work has strengthened healthcare infrastructure, improved access to care, modernized systems through Connect Care implementation, and built a culture of mentorship and service that will benefit rural Albertans for generations.”

Last week Saturday Jan 31, 2026 we had the greatest honor to host medical students at our Community Showcase Dinner.

The event was to highlight Olds as not only a rural community within city drive-time. We were very fortunate to host the event at the Olds College of Agriculture & Technology - Werklund Building and dinner service by Cacio e Pepe Italian Bistro! ..
A huge thank you to our specially invited guests who took the time to share what inspires them about Olds, and those who have settled here- what was the pull factor coming to a small town! Your presence and networking with the students made for a great social night! Representatives from the community groups we THANK YOU!

We're reminiscing on the send off last Sunday 1, February 2026 hosting healthcare students from U of A and Red Deer Polytechnic hosted by Health Professions Action Plan!..
🐎After a packed week of touring the Town Olds, students were treated to a farm tour just outside of town with Sunset Ridge Therapy Farm! Chantal was an amazing host with our students and being on a farm was a first for many! ..
💙Rural does not mean backward! It means access to non-city experiences, closer community relations and warm-welcoming experiences. The committee and community wishes all our students the very best in their studies, with high hopes we see a few faces practicing in Olds in the future.
