Things I did to feel sexy, liberated & at home in my body again after having a baby…

1. I started moving in ways that actually connected me to my body.
Yoga, dancing, stretching, random flow movements…literally whatever felt good. Sometimes sensual, sometimes strong, sometimes ducking weird. No goal other than letting my body move how it wanted to and specifically taking time to move.

2. I learned more about my mind + body.
I started listening to people like Kevin Trudeau and Joe Dispenza and learning more about thoughts, emotions, energy and the mind-body connection. The more curious I became about myself, the more connected I felt to myself.

3. I started dressing for who I am NOW.
I’m not the same woman I was before having a baby, so why was I trying to dress like her? I invested in clothes that actually felt like an expression of the woman I am now.

4. I started listening to my intuition.
And I started SMALL. Taking a different route because something told me to. Trying the food I randomly felt drawn to. Following those tiny gut feelings instead of immediately questioning them. The more I listened, the easier it became to recognize my own voice.

5. I became picky about who gets access to me.
I wanted people around me who inspired me, challenged me, uplifted me and genuinely felt good to be around. Not relationships I was maintaining just because they’d always been there.

6. I gave myself something to work toward.
A goal. A vision. Something that was MINE. Having something I was excited to build and move toward made me feel ambitious, capable and alive again. THIS ON IS HUGE!!!! ⭐️

None of these things were about getting my “pre-baby self” back.

I don’t want her back.

I wanted to know, express and actually enjoy the woman I am now.

Regulating your nervous system, spending time with yourself, loving yourself, improving your emotional capacity, investing in your body, your mind and your wellbeing, having boundaries, doing the course, taking that moment to yourself…

These are some of the most selfless things you can do.

The more you invest in yourself, the more present and able you are to truly be with your child.

Loving you is loving them. 🤍

Behind the mother is still a whole human being 💃🏽

A woman who has probably spent a lot of time taking care of everyone else and not a whole lot of time figuring out who she is now

What she likes. What she wants. What she misses. What she needs. What makes her feel alive

And there shouldn’t be shame in any of the answers…Because admitting that you miss something doesn’t mean you don’t love what you have

Wanting more doesn’t mean what you have isn’t enough

And acknowledging that something is missing doesn’t make you ungrateful 🫶🏽

Sometimes honesty is just the first little clue 🔍

Maybe you need more support
Maybe you need more time
Maybe you need more pleasure, play, movement, connection
Maybe you just need the space to meet the woman you’ve become

Either way, she deserves some of your attention too

There’s a whole woman behind the mother

And I think it’s time we started making some room for her 🤍

I cannnnnooottt wait to share what’s coming next!!

⚠️ a must read if you deal with guilt and shame around being consistent with ‘working out’ ⚠️

Because sometimes I simply don’t have the time, and I absolutely refuse to shame myself for not being “consistent” when all that does is leave me feeling guilty and shame.

So what do I do instead?

Not being able to make it to the gym consistently as a mom is so normal… honestly, it’s kind of upsetting. But REGARDLESS of that (because that’s a whole other rant 😂), it just isn’t realistic for a lot of us.

So don’t shame yourself. Don’t think, “Well, there go my fitness goals.” Don’t fall into a pit of self-pity.

Instead… pivot.

If I can’t make it to the gym and I really don’t want to do a full workout at home (which is usually the next option), I ask myself, “What’s something I actually will do?”

Maybe it’s putting on my favourite show and doing a light workout for one episode, then resting for the next before bed.

It might not be perfect, but I’m still showing up for myself within my capacity. I’m creating habits I can actually stick to, and every time I do, I’m proving to myself that I can trust myself.

And if you’re looking for a way to stay consistent and want me by your side… I have something coming for you very soon. 🤍

My bet: Your exhaustion levels are maxed out and you’re in desperate need of hitting the hot springs to recharge your XP 🤲🏽✨

I think so many women get confused about what “connecting with yourself” actually looks like. It doesn’t have to be meditation, ta***ic dancing, or journaling (although if that’s your thing, sweet).

It can be dancing around your living room and shaking your !!

It can be cooking yourself (yes, yourself) a yummy meal and sitting down to watch your favourite show without feeling guilty for a second.

Heck, if connecting with yourself looks like getting dressed up, going out with your friends, and enjoying a few drinks… DO IT MAMA!!

There isn’t one right way to reconnect with yourself. The goal isn’t to become someone who meditates every morning. The goal is to spend more time doing the things that make you feel alive, joyful, playful, present, and like you again.

Healing is hot 🥵

Pretending to work on yourself because you can think through your issues, understand where they come from, and overanalyze the s**t out of them is 👏🏽 not 👏🏽 healing 👏🏽!!!

You can know exactly why you are the way you are and still keep repeating the same patterns.

Real healing happens when you stop trying to think your way through your emotions and actually allow yourself to feel them. When you start changing what’s happening in your body, your nervous system, your energy, and your subconscious instead of just collecting more self-awareness.

There’s something so magnetic about someone who has done that work. Someone who knows who they are underneath all the conditioning, the survival patterns, and the stories they’ve been telling themselves.

Now that’s sexy.
