Before Halloween 🎃 there was Samhain (pronounced sow-in). The ancient Celtic festival marking the end of harvest and the turning of the Wheel toward winter. 🍂

For our ancestors, this was a sacred time when the veil between worlds grew thin, allowing spirits and ancestors to walk among the living. It was both a celebration and a time of deep respect for the cycle of death, rebirth, and all that connects us. 🕯️✨

Bonfires were lit to protect the people and their livestock, offerings were made to honor loved ones, and families gathered to feast, reflect, and prepare for the dark half of the year. 🌑

Today, many of us still honor Samhain by:
🍎 Lighting candles for those who’ve passed.
🌿 Leaving offerings for spirits and guides.
🔮 Practicing divination for guidance into the winter season.
