You asked. Ontario listened.

Starting July 1, colorectal cancer screening in Ontario will begin at age 45 instead of 50.

This is a big step forward for earlier detection and better outcomes.

If you are between the ages of 45 and 74, talk to your family doctor or nurse practitioner about colorectal cancer screening.

The FIT kit is an easy at-home test, that requires no prep. Just a few simple steps.

If you do not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner, call 811 to ask for your FIT kit.

Have a family history? Make sure to let your family doctor or nurse practitioner know. You may need to start screening even earlier.

And remember: Early detection matters. Don’t wait for symptoms — screening is for people who feel healthy!

Have questions? Send us a DM

The Central East Regional Cancer Program offers colorectal cancer screening with a focus on early detection and prevention. Learn more.
