It’s a bit hard to believe that it’s time to start planning for the arrival of cooler weather and destined seasonal shift.

I personally love autumn and I’ve been planning and preparing for our next Seasonal Box with great excitement!

Autumn is when oils and balms feel particularly lovely on the skin. Like a cashmere blanket on a cool day they envelope our skin with warmth, protection and rich nourishment. I love the feel!

Our first 2026 harvest of calendula kept me very busy 🙂

I must say that I was waiting for it impatiently. I missed these vibrant orange flowers; the way they are right after the harvest. My body was truly craving its bitter taste. So I’m sipping on a super strong calendula decoction as we speak and it feels so so good!

I happily started WD calendula oil infusion and it will now need loving daily tending for the next three months. Only then will it be ready to be used in our formulas.

Calendula oil infusion is a tremendous gift to botanical skincare. I always make plenty because I know that many of my clients, family members and friends will need it, and will benefit from its application. This is why calendula is a staple ingredient in many of WOMAN DIVINE | Skin Care formulations.

I infuse calendula flowers into the amazing sunflower oil from our local organic producer. It’s the best!

In my experience, calendula in sunflower oil has a particular affinity with the red inflamed and irritated skin and I have witnessed many clients benefit from formulas which include this synergy.

Calendula decoction or water infusion can be used in a multitude of ways.

For example adding calendula decoction to bath water or facial compressing can be very helpful for inflammation, skin irritation, moving stagnant lymph and relaxing at the end of the day.

Compresses and fomentations using strong decoctions are a wonderful way to treat specific areas on the body to
calm inflammation and promote healing.

These can be applied to treat various inflammatory skin problems, swollen lymph nodes, as mouth rinses, hair and scalp or sinus rinses. Also to heal wounds, ulcers, bumps, bruises, varicose veins, phlebitis and much more.

In my life calendula is an indispensable plant medicine which I feel special connection with. It brings comfort, radiance, resilience and emotional warmth. And its flowers open at dawn and close at dusk to gently remind me of nature’s magical rhythms.

All of my life I have been lucky to be surrounded by beautiful creative people. There is always someone near who inspires me deeply.

One of such people is my dear friend Lucy who is incredibly talented yet humble. One day she surprised me with this painting of the Body Oil from WOMAN DIVINE | Skin Care Seasonal Self-Care Boxes.
I was deeply moved that Lucy channeled her creative spirit to support my creation🩷

The painting is inspired by a lovely photo that our Julie Julie Rogers took while getting WD Spring Self-Care Box ready for our clients. Thank you Julie🩷

The moral of the story is that we never know how even the smallest things that we do may inspire others to do more. And how everything is beautifully connected. And it is important to acknowledge that we have an impact on each other even when we don’t know it.

Body Oil by me ( inspired by my beloved clients) followed by Julie’s photo ( inspired by the vibrant colour of the oil) culminated in beautiful art by Lucy! How great is that?!

My husband Tony sneaked up on me a little earlier in the season when mosquitoes and ticks where super active🙂
So for real, this is how I do it🤣🤣🤣

I’m one of those people who feel creepy crawlies all over me once I know that ticks, black flies and mosquitoes are out. And we had lots!
I saw two possibilities; stay indoors or full coverage.
Thank goodness for the beekeeper’s suit and rubber boots and masking tape (to catch potential ticks crawling up my rubber boots 🤣🤣🤣! A little warm I must say but no creepy crawlies does it so off I go in my special outfit.
A bit wired? Maybe:) Determined? Absolutely:)

Happy gardening to all! If you share space with a large population of ticks and bugs of all kinds , I highly recommend a sexy and romantic outdoor outfit like mine.

It’s not a bad job working alongside butterflies, bees and birds:) We work together harmoniously ; everyone takes only what we need so others have plenty left. No greed, no attempts to monopolize, control or conquer. We simply get it!

I’ve been spending a lot of time with bees lately🐝. This is such a busy time of the year for me; happy busy!

Foraging, dehydrating and starting herbal extracts is in full gear now🐝 What I gather now will have to last until next summer.
So I better get back to work; just wanted to say a quick hello🌼
